Sergeant's Time Training

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me, Zim.  Drill SGT Zim, to be more precise! As some of you are aware, Thursday morning is reserved for Sergeant's Time Training (STT) in many Army units. Here at Ao4 Headquarters, we observe that practice -- especially now that I have not just one but two young recruits to train.

This week, I thought Maggie needed some extra time spent on military training - more specifically, working on the construction of really cool snow forts. We've been spending a lot of time on the basics, and I thought I'd have Mom document this week's STT with a few photos. Let's get busy!

Here we are, working on the really cool snow fort on the north side of our driveway:

"I should dig for all I'm worth up here, SGT Zim?"
"That's right kid!  Go crazy!  Let me know if you hit any snags.  I'm packing the base."

Hands-on training is so important!!!

"Let's see how you're doing up here, Maggie!"
"I think I've dug us in pretty good, Zimmie!  I mean SGT Zim."

She's actually a natural, but  being a Drill Sergeant means I need to push her to improve, so she can really excel!

"You call this a really cool snow fort, recruit?!?"
"Yes, SGT Zim!"

She did a GREAT job - and I was just kidding with her!  I told her as much, then we play bowed and had a little Siberian-style fun!

"Oh, Zimmie!  I thought you were serious!"
"Nah, kid!  You did GREAT!  Now, let's have some fun!"

After we played a bit (for some reason, it's hard for Mom to take pix of us playing and hold onto our leashes at the same time), Mags went over to another of our really cool snow forts.

"Let's make sure this one on the south side of the driveway is good to go, too, SGT Z!"

Usually after STT, we cut everyone some slack and only work a partial day, but the work ethic is strong in little Maggie!  I'm so proud of her!

Work hard, play hard!  I better catch some sack time while she's conked out.

Play bows,
Zim

  6. Hi Zim, What a great leader you are! Great snow fort too; looks like you still have plenty of snow on the ground. Our morning was sunny and snow is melting but it is still cold out. Hope you all have a nice warm day inside.
