Harnessing The Power

Hello, everyone.  It's me, Cammie.  As you might have noticed, when we go on our walks/adventures, Maggie wears a harness, but I usually don't - unless I've gone somewhere in the car and have my seatbelt harness on.  Lately, Maggie has been balking at wearing her harness, and Mom thought maybe the strap between her front legs was rubbing.  She set about finding one that would be more comfortable and could also double as a seatbelt harness.  She found exactly what she was looking for through a friend on FaceBook:  a sturdy, comfortable harness with a seatbelt attachment.  Isn't that great?!?

Here's Maggie, modeling her new Julius K-9 harness:

"This is awesome!"

Doesn't she look fantastic?!? All set to go on a road march or a car ride!

Imagine my surprise when Mom took a second harness out of the package.

"Wait a minute... I don't pull!"

I mean ... I don't wear a harness when we walk!  Apparently I do now.  Sigh.

Here is a shot of Maggie and me modeling our new harnesses:

"Mom has Zuke's treats!"
"And my full attention!"

We got a treat for that. Then Mom adjusted them a bit and we went outside for another shot. Mags and I decided to do our "rugged, outdoorsy sled dog" look:

Mags and me - don't we look tough?

Mom was anxious for us to try them out for real. Here is Maggie from this morning:

We both got an American flag to wear - doesn't it look cool?  And the chest strap has reflective tape - a great safety feature!  Here I am:

"Let's go, Mom!"

I have to admit, it was mighty comfy; I don't think I'll mind wearing it at all. We haven't tried out the seatbelt attachment yet, but I'm sure we will soon!

I hope all of you have a great weekend!

Cammie!

  8. We have always wanted harnesses but my mom doesn't trust them. But yours look very trustworthy! Will they hold back 55 lbs (what I weigh!) of pulling power?

  9. Cammie, you and Maggie look super sharp in those harnesses! my mom was eyeing that style for me. is the girth strap padded? I am sort of sensitive in the arm-pit area, heh heh. anywho, you'd better hurry up and catch up with Maggie and your dad.
