Exploring!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Mags.  We had a great family walk this morning - we went exploring again, up in the area beyond Colbert Hills.  We blogged about this route before; today we wanted to see how much progress there has been up there!  Our favorite part was way up at the northern-most part of our walk, in the undeveloped area!  Check out what we found:

"What's that, Mags?"
"C'mon, Ragnar!  I'll show you!  Just don't ask Mom what it is."

I mean ... really.  We went a little closer but got temporarily side-tracked.

"Wait!  I smell something wonderful over there!  I smell ..."
"COWS!"
Talk about a wonderful aroma!

"They smell soooooo good!"
"Why don't you two go over and pose by the ..."
"DON'T SAY IT, MOM!"
..."HAY, you guys!"

"HAY, Ragnar!  Get it?!?"
"Ha roo roo roo!  Mom made a funny joke!  HAY, Maggie!?!"
"Do NOT laugh at her, Raggi!  Not you, too! Sheesh, I can't even look."

I mean ... OLDEST joke in all of Kansas.  Am I right here?

Anyway, we posed beside the bale of HAY to humor our mom:

"Everybody say 'Hay from Kansas!'"
"I don't think so.  Oooh, there's that breeze again!"
"COWS!!!"

The breeze (well, OK, more like 35 mph winds) kept blowing the cow aroma our way.  Heav-en-ly!!!  Here's a great shot of Raggi checking them out:

"COWS!!!!!!"

It was a great adventure this morning!  New territory and cows!  What more could anyone want?!?  Oh.  And hay.  From Kansas.  (OK, it's kind of funny.  Lame, but kind of funny.)

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

  1. Hay, Ragnar - sorry, we couldn't resist. We see those big bales at the donkey farm. The lady who owns the donkeys has a big noisy machine that she uses to roll up all that HAY. Mom counted 57 bales in October. Those four donkeys sure do eat a lot!!!

  4. Fun story, when lady was like 12, she and a girl friend entered the push the hay bail race at the fall fair. We didn't do well, but I believe we were rewarded with like 50 cents.

  6. We have those hay bales, but none along our walking route so I don't suffer from the bad jokes and pose requests. PHEW!
