...sometimes it's hard, hard work!
Right now, Mom and I are focusing on that scrap quilt I showed you the other day. I normally am not too keen on scrap quilts - but we settled on choosing only fabrics in the "warm, fuzzy (I especially like the fuzzy part), muted" arena. That was enough of a color scheme to please me and to let me relax.
Perhaps I relaxed too much, because the other day I came into the Studio to check Mom's progress and ...
Me, hanging my head in disbelief in front of Mom's design wall |
I couldn't believe the fabric she had slipped in there!
"Not in my quilt! Not on my watch!" |
I got right to work, taking the offending (and I DO mean "offending") block out!
"This one right here! It must GO!" |
Sorry the pix are so blurry:
A) I was working really fast!
B) Mom was in disbelief as to what I was doing!
I've never had to remove a block before, but this was just ... just too MUCH!!!
"Sorry to have to do this, Mom!" |
That's so much better. Can you see the block I took out? When you see it, you'll understand why I had to do what I had to do. Here - I did a special close up for you that should explain it all:
Oh, sure, the colors fit! ... but CAT fabric?!? Unless maybe this is for Zim or another cat-lover ...
I better keep a closer eye on my mom. A Guide Dog for the Color Blind's work is never done!
Luv,
Dave, GDFTCB
Oh Dave you did the RIGHT thing. Your job is a tough one. Glad you are on the job, this could have been disastrous! Good job friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Woof! Woof! Oh its beautiful. Lots of hard work of love. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteOMD Dave I can't believe your Mom did that to you! I hope there aren't other cats hiding further up on the design wall where you can't reach. You better get a ladder or chair to get up on and check the fabrics near the top.
ReplyDeleteWhat would your Mom do without you to review her work. It's good you caught it before she pieced all the blocks together.
Good work, Dave!
Cindy
We understand that you have to keep her in line, but sheesh...it was just ONE picture. :)
ReplyDeleteDave you DO have a hard job. Your mom worked so hard would 1 cat pic be so bad??? It was only a little one... BUT you're right- we wouldn't want a cat in ours either...
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a cat and he lived to be very OLD 21 yearsOLD...
Now it's just us dogs. Perfect!!

It just beggars belief Dave!! What was your mom thinking? It's enough to make a dog bark!

You are right...new shoes, a good walk! However, neither of them wore the new shoes on our walk. Crazy humans.

Ha ha! That's a good one! My your mommy works fast. Beth and I are REALLY slow! Looks fantastic, my friend!
ReplyDeleteDavy. I'm a little bit disappointed. I mean, I thought we were friends.
ReplyDeleteHuffs

ReplyDeleteGood thing you spotted that kitty square, Dave! You can't have that in such a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,

Good eye there, Dave! Yikes! Cat fabric. I would probably have buried the whole thing outside...BOL
ReplyDeleteMy mom says shut my yapper, it's very pretty :D
Wyatt
Dave what sharp eyes you have! You are really good to zero in on that cat! Your mom does beautiful work. This takes patience and talent. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.

oh my goodness Dave – how lucky you would be to spot the sneaky cat in the quilt! Good job! :-)
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Honey the great Dane
oops, sorry – that should have been "how lucky you were there…" – This stupid voice recognition software – STILL can't get things right!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a close one Dave! Your mom must be cat blind in addition to color blind but thankfully you spotted it in time! Phew!
ReplyDeleteWoos,
Sadie
PeeS: Does the heart quilt on the side have you, Zim and your angel sisters on it?
Oh, Dave, you are a dog after Abby's own heart! A stickler for doing your duty AND very sound on the subject of cats.
ReplyDeleteJed & Abby
Who would even buy CAT fabric? Geesh, good job fixing that mistake - what if it had made it to the final version- yikes!
ReplyDeletewoof - Tucker
Whew! What a relief you were there. Apparently you are also a Guide Dog for the Cat Blind as well. Disaster averted!
ReplyDeleteKat (I know you would not take out a fabric with a Kat on it.)
Been meaning to comment on this one: Dave WOO are a sibe after Juno's own heart. She would love to go cat-hunting with woo! sigh...
ReplyDeleteGood thing you are keeping such a close eye on your mom's work.
