Ha roo, pups and cool cats! It's me, Zim! Guess where I got to go yesterday?!? That's right, I went where no Siberian has gone before - into the state park part of Tuttle Creek State Park! Remember when Mom and Dad went and got all the Bald Eagle pix and then Mom went there with her friend and a bunch of Border Collies?!? Sure, that area is swimming with mud and goose poop galore (!!!) right now, but I promised to be on my best behavior. And I got to go!!!
When we first got there, we looked down the River Pond to see what we could see.
"I do believe there's a juvenile Bald Eagle over that way, Mom!" |
I saw it perched up in a tree, watching us. It was cool. We'll share bird pix maybe tomorrow or so. Mom said a lot of them are mighty blurry. Something about holding a leash, zooming in, and not having a tripod. I have no idea what that's all about. Anyway ... look down the River Pond a bit!
"More birdies out where the water bends, Mom!" |
Isn't it gorgeous?!? And yeah, Mom could tell pretty much by watching me where all the birdies were! It was so cool seeing them all! Let's walk over this way a bit ...
... just a little further!
Over there, in the trees on the far bank, is where Mom and Dad saw so many eagles before. No one was home when we were there, but there was one flying! Can you see him in about the middle of the sky part of the photo? That's an eagle!
We walked down a bit further and saw this trailhead area.
" 'Stay on the path and out of the mud.' Got it, Mom!" |
Seriously. Mom was impressed with how good I was. No stepping in mud and no snarfing up goose poop. I'm no dummy -- I had a BLAST there and want to go back! I was on my very best behavior!
Let's go down to the lookout area!
"I see ducks, Mom!" |
Speaking of cool, we also got to walk through the woods a bit!
It was in the 70s, and I'm not used to it being that warm yet -- so I was happy to be in the cool of the woods! And WOW, the great smells in there!
We did a lot more cool stuff, but Mom got mostly pix of birdies, not me. I guess we'll just have to go back again and take some of me - right, Mom?!!? Exactly right!
I hope you enjoyed our photos and coming to Tuttle Creek State Park with me! I can't wait to go back again!
Play bows,
Zim
Not being able to get Muds on our feets is really a tough thingy to have to give up... just to be able to have a walk... butt in this case... it was well worth the sacrifice.
ReplyDeleteWe would have probably been covered in the mud...we looked for those eagles in your pictures but didn't see any...we have lots and lots of eagles around here cos of the river, one of the little terriers in town a few years back was picked up by one, he survived being dropped into the river, he has a huge huge scar on his back..he is pretty tough isn't he. I think you are to big to be picked up tho so its okay you look for them!

ohhh...i just love goose poop. it's so so so so so delicious.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't the humans like it when we eat it? They just haven't tried it yet i guess?
This was a super fun adventure. That must have taken some serious self control to not get your feed muddy.
Ok...swimming DOES involve getting your feet wet. I'm 50/50 on swimming. I don't ever like to be predictable as to whether or not I'll like it. Just like to keep everyone guessing!

Pawsome adventure Zim. We sure look forward to more bird pix and yes they may inspire more bad hair styles, but yours is always way cool pal. Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
What a good, well-behaved boy you were! Not that we expected anything else. That looks like a grreat adventure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great adventure....think you need to talk the peeps into getting you deck loungers like my girlz have, cuz after a great walk like that you need a comfy place to rest!! Happy friday.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! Hopefully you will get to go on many more trips there!
ReplyDeleteSam
What a wonderful place to go for a hike/walk! Wish I could join you. I love seeing bald eagles-my hubby says there are a couple that hang out over the golf course. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Days,
Noreen & Hunter
Hey Zim, I will trade you 87,000 cubic feet of fresh, clean snow for one day of running water and 70 degrees. Sound like a good deal to you?
ReplyDeleteStella, who needs a little spring!
(We are getting 4" of new snow today!)
We enjoyed that walk with you, Zim. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch and Molly

another great adventure - and how wonderful that you were along to make sure your mom knew where all the birds were at :)
ReplyDeleteOh Zim, Zim, Zimmer-roo what a GREAT adventure!! AND you stayed out of the mud?! WOW that really is amazing. I can't wait for you to go back and take us with you. I would love to romp and explore that place.
