Tail wags, all! Stormy here with today's post. As many of you know, Mom recently got a new camera (thanks, Dad!) and you could safely assume that we in the Ao4 are her favorite subjects. What you also may remember is that I've taught on-line classes about Cooperating for Photos. You'd think our very own mom would remember, wouldn't you?
She took me out for a photo shoot the other day and asked me to look at the camera.
No.
I didn't feel like it. Hey, there are several bags of Happy Hearts Cookies in the freezer. It would have gone much more smoothly if she had thought to line her pockets with some of those!
Then she thought it would help if Dave came out with us. I can only hear certain pitches, and certainly not the ones she was using to try to get my attention (or could I?...), so she thought I could take a cue from Dave. Let's see how that whole "sit and look at the camera" thing went:
Yeah. Well, I certainly picked up on what Mom was asking for by watching Dave, but I didn't WANT to sit and look at the camera... so I shot Mom a "look". Ha roo roo roo. I've done that before; you'd think she'd have learned her lesson.
I sent her a mind-meld message reminding her about her "get them doing something they like" methodology, and she proposed we do a little walking!
This is more like it!
Going on a walk beats sitting and posing ANY day of the week.
Have a great day, everypup and everycat, and remember -- it's up to you to train your biped! Be firm but gentle with them, and stay consistent. They'll come around to your way of doing things eventually.
Tail wags,
Storms
Oh ya walks are much better than poses. Have a great weekend...

I asked Mom about the Husky article she was reading and she said it was called "Husky-A Free Spirit". So I guess that is you guys, huh? Sort of I'll do what I want when I want to kind of philosophy? I may not be able to change to a Husky, but I can certainly work on my free spiritedness, and I WILL!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
Stella
I think those are great pictures!

PS. My mom is also impressed by how lovely and white your leg and face fur is.
Hi, Storms!

You are so smart Stormy! We have been working on training our humans for a long time, and it really does work the majority of the time!!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful!

We think we need a professional trainer for Jan. She's a slaw learner.
ReplyDeleteStormy, you are such a good trainer - now did she pull out the Happy Hearts? We found out they are just fine fresh out of the freezer - no defrosting time needed.
ReplyDeleteWoo, the OP Pack
Wooo Storm, you have trained your Mommy well, Mine is still in school...

I always learn so much when I come to your blog!! I am going to make sure my humans have plenty of treats for the next time they want to get my picture!
ReplyDeleteOh Beautiful Storm... I love seeing photos of you!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sitka
P.S. Dave is mighty handsome too.
I agree, going on walks are the best but my mommy always takes pictures of my cute patooty. Maybe it's because I won't stop and look at her either. She needs to learn about the treats in the pocket trick!
ReplyDeleteSadie
I'm with you - walking is MUCH more fun than standing and posing (which seems to be why Mom has LOTS of pictures of the back of my head when we are hiking - heehee!). Good training tips - I'm still working on training my humans!

Training humans is so hard. They are stubborn and easily distracted. We have to work so much on them.
ReplyDeleteYour walking photos are GREAT Stormy!
