Serene Scenery Sunday

Ha roo, pups and cool cats - Zim here, with Serene Scenery Sunday. Ammy's here, too. We thought we'd post pix from the walk we took to the Kansas Ocean the other day. Nothing can make a pup or a kit feel more serene than a walk to the ocean! Let's go!

Here are some flowers we passed on our way. We see these all the time:

Mom loves the splash of color amid the rocks and pine straw. Anyone know what these are? Anyone? Aunt Janet? Bren? Pink flowers. Ferris? Anyone. Whatever they are, they make Mom smile!

There are still some sunflowers around, too! Here's Ammy checking some out:

Oh. And that's my tail. Ha roo roo roo!

A shout out to our buddy MaxDog in South Africa! He planted sunflowers for us as a Christmas present - and they're blooming!!! I have a feeling Am was thinking of him when she snoofed our sunflowers! Can you feel the love, Max?!

On our approach to the ocean, I felt like someone was watching us. Or following us! I looked up, and this is who it was:

A hawk! Isn't he grand!?!? We love hawks - they're so powerful and majestic!!!

He kept pace with us, almost like he was leading the way. It reminded us to look all around for serene scenery - to include looking up! Here's a collage we put together:

You can click on any of these pix to go to our
FlickR page for a closer look! We also have the individual shots in there; Mom said to please keep in mind that as she was holding two leashes that led to pulling puppies (who... us?) and a poop bag, it was a challenge to focus her camera on the hawk. Especially without a tripod. And something about a zoom lens. ("And with two puppies pulling.") (I think I covered that, Mom.) We need to get back to serene things...

Here's the shot all you man-pups have been waiting for - Ammy at the ocean!

I must say, she's gorgeous, isn't she? And fear not, babes - here I am, striking a pose:

Here are some of the sights we saw at the Kansas Ocean:

For some reason, Mom was fascinated by these dried wildflowers:

They look like soldiers standing up, defending the high ground, don't they? What do they make you think of?

Those were the serene highlights of our walk. We'll share more pix later this week, but that's enough for now.

I hope you had as much fun as we did! Have a serene Sunday!

  10. Hi Zim! whoa..for a minute there i thought that was a new species of flower among the sun flower ammy was sniffing at..!
    Kool tail shot!

Mommy luvs the pics, especially the ones with the pink flowers. She thinks its Cosmos. I like the hawk pic!

  11. We are feeling so serene now we are going off to bed!
Hard to believe you still have some sunflowers.
Great pic of the hawk - especially in view of all the obstacles your mum had to overcome!

  12. Loved every photo! Well done to your mom with leashes and poop bag! Looked like a great day for a sweet serene walkie.

    Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
    Sierra Rose

  13. The pretty lavender-blooming flower is Cosmos, an annual plant!
We love that picture with you sticking out your tongue, Ammy!

    Love ya lots,
    Maggie and Mitch

  14. Watch out for those sunflowers. They get HUGE! And they watch you too.

  15. Love the pictures!! It's so neat with the collage. You have more flowers than we do! Yours are so pretty! I cannot help it but I laugh like crazy every time you write about the Kansas Ocean...I think it's so cool!!! I've been to the Atlantic Ocean, but never to the Kansas Ocean...it is really pretty! I think those dried wildflowers are little soldiers guarding the Kansas Ocean. I'm having to write for Holly because she is taking a nap (again). And I bet that your (puppies) pull like she does on walks (although she says she doesn't). Thanks for the serene scenery walk. I always love your walks and especially to the Kansas Ocean!!!!!

  16. Cool pictures. Careful of that hawk..he might peck your head.
    Benny & Lily

  17. Very serene pictures - especially of the hawk. We love hawks too.

Our hu-dad complains about the challenges of picture taking with poop-bags. He says the pulling he can handle, the lack of tripod is ok, but the, er, mental distraction of a poop bag dangling nearby apparently affects his photographic skills.

  18. VERY serene! So serene that I might need to take a nap. But before I do, so that's what an ocean looks like? Hmm. I'll take your word for it!

    *kissey face*

  19. Aaaaaaahhhh...I feel so relaxed now!! That is an awesome smiley picture of Ammy!!

The hawk collage is very cool!

  20. OMD!!! What an incredibly bootiful walkie!!! And gorgeous photos! The hawk is amazing and the picture of Ammy is unbelieveable! Thanks for sharing!
    Hugs xo

Wow Ammy! You are such a beautiful babe! I think you should go into modeling like your brother, Zimmie (who looks as handsome as can be). The one of you with the sunflower is Bee-Roo-Tiful!

  27. Hello Zim and Ammy,

That was a lovely walk. Thanks for taking us with you. The sunflowers are beautiful. And yeah, we saw the sunflowers over at Maxdog and we look forward to more blooms there too. The ocean really gives us such a serene feeling.
We also like your back to back snap shots. Weeeeee
