Off on a Safari!

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  It's me, Zim!  A few days ago, Mom announced that she was heading out on a safari to do some shooting - and asked if I'd like to come along.  It sounded a bit unusual ... but hey, I'm always game (ha roo, "game" to go on a safari -- get it?) so I jumped at the chance for some adventure!

We headed to the high ground near our water tower and started looking around.

The sky was as blue and clear as a sky can get and the winds were calm at about 10 mph.  It was the perfect day for our hunt.  I thought I saw what we were after already, but looked around a little more.

Yep!  There were some practically under our noses!  I pounced quickly, as Mom got ready to shoot!

"Right here, Mom!  There are some right here!"

Did I mention we were on a Sunflower Safari?  And Mom was shooting pix with her Nikon?  Ha roo!  Now that's my kind of a hunt!

We saw some other wildflowers, too.

"You like these ones, Mom?"

We stumbled onto some small, yellow straw-looking wildflowers; I told Mom I'd snoof out some more for her.

"Look, Mom!  It's a whole sea of those little yellow flowers!"

Sure, some people call them "weeds", but it's all in your outlook, isn't it?

"These are some mighty pretty wildflowers, if you ask me!"

After Mom shot a bunch of those, we went in search of more sunflowers.

"BINGO!"

Have I mentioned the wild sunflowers will grow just about anywhere in Kansas!??!  Even in cracks in the roads!

"Hey, Mom!  You should get a shot of these!"

"Oh.  You're trying?  OK, knock yourself out."

Mom asked me to move for some reason.  I have no idea why!

We checked out a lot more sunflowers:

"Mom!  Check these ones out!"

...then wrapped things up and headed home.  It was a GREAT safari!

I'll share the pix of the flowers with you tomorrow for Serene Scenery Sunday!  They're guaranteed to put a smile on your face!  Until then - good hunting, everyone!

Play bows,
Zim

  7. What a fun safari! Those are pretty short sunflowers, though. The ones I'm used to are taller than Momma!
