Serene Scenery Sunday

Woo, everypup and everycat.  It's me, Dave, here with Serene Scenery Sunday.  I have a boatload of pix to share with you, so let's get started!

Remember last week we told you we got a few inches of rain?  Well, it's amazing what that did for our gardens!  Let's have a quick look at some of the plants!

The Tomato Soup Echinacea is still going strong ...

... and the Becky Daisies are in another bloom cycle:

How can you look at daisies and not be happy?  Oh.  Speaking of "bee-ing"... check out who's visiting the Purple Emperor Sedum:

Two bees  (or not two bees -- ha woo!)

The Ice Plants that we mentioned were trying to make a comeback were really happy for the nourishing rains!

Remember the ornamental grass Mom bought that the lady at the store told her would grow to be 14 inches high - but the tag said 14 feet?  This is as high as Mom can reach on it now:

Good thing Mom always double-checks things, huh?  Ha woo.  It's making her very happy where she planted it - or I wouldn't have posted it on Serene Scenery Sunday!

The grasses Mom did plant beside the driveway, the Purple Love Grasses, are doing great!

They're starting to send their plumy things out -- if you look closely, you can see them!  We'll try to get a better shot this week; they're really cool.  They have tiny seed-like ends and look like purply-red explosions!

Also out front here are the PeeDee Gold Liriopes -- one has two flower stems on it!

Yea!

OK ... let's move on to the sunsets - we've had some spectacular ones this week!

From the 26th:

And the 27th:

On the 31st, we took a walk at sunset.

"Quit shilly-shallying, Zim!  C'mon!!!"

The remnants of Hurricane Isaac was moving through our area, and he brought us some remarkable clouds!  Mom took this shot down at the end of our street:

When we got home, Mom shot this off the deck:

The blue was the most remarkable shade of blue we've EVER seen!  Blue is already our favorite color, but Mom and I just couldn't get enough of this!

The hurricane didn't bring us any rain, but just to our east they got a nice soaking!

We hope our photos helped bring a little serenity to your day!

Luv,
Dave

  2. Ice plant? KILL IT WITH FIRE!! It's a pain out here....it takes over everything and causes landslides because it's so heavy! The rest of the garden looks gorgeous!

  15. It's amazing what a drop of rain can do to bring so much colour to the garden. Trouble is, here in the UK we get so much that the flowers often get washed away! Looks like you had an amazing walk, and just look at that sky :)xx
