Serene Sunflower Safari Scenery Sunday

Ha roo, pups and cool cats!  Mom and I saw such incredible blooms on our Sunflower Safari that I just had to share a lot of the photos with you today.  And I do mean "a lot".  Very photo-heavy, so I'll keep the chit-chat down.  Just sit back and enjoy the finds from our safari!

First up - remember those tiny yellow flowers I found?  Here's a close-up for you:

DSCN4320 Curly-Cup Gumweed?

We think they're called Curly-Cup Gumweed.  Or as I'm choosing to call them, Curly-Cup Gumwildflower.  But correct us if we're wrong.  Whatever you want to call them, they're mighty pretty.

We found a member of the Sunflower family called the Compass Plant.  We think.  Same rules here.

This one had a cool bug on it:

One more look at another one of those:

And now for our state flower - the Sunflower!  Oh, they were all over the place!  Smiling up at the sun, inspiring you to lift your face up, too - feeling the warm of the sun, a tiny breeze, and to give thanks to God for such beauty.

There's an ant crawling down the stem, right behind the bloom on this one.
I just thought I'd point that out.

You can tell from this one why it's called the "sun" flower, can't you?

There are even more in our Sunflower Safari FlickR album, if you need a huge sunflower fix.

I hope you enjoyed going on our Sunflower Safari with us!  Do you feel the warmth, the serenity?  I'm totally in the Zen of Zim Zone - and there's plenty of room for all of you to join me there!

Play bows,
Zim

  1. Those sunflowers are gorgeous! Our mommy loves them since they remind her of growing up in the Sunflower state! There's several that she thinks should be framed! :)
