A Bad Day For Barking?

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cam, here with today's post.  Fear not, Zim will tell you all about the adventure he was on tomorrow; we did a big job yesterday, though, so we wanted to fill you in.  It's mostly photos - ready to take a look?

Yesterday was a wonderfully windy and cool day!  After we went on our big walk, had breakfast, then went on another walk, a man in a big truck came and put this in our driveway:

He said it was a bad day for barking, but I disagreed!

"BUFF!"
"Ha roo roo roo!  Looks like we have another comedian in the family!"

Zimmie always appreciates a good joke!

But then it was time to get down to business!

"Yep.  Looks like we've got our work cut out for us, Zim."

IMG_4794Cam
"Zim?  ...  Zimmie?"

IMG_4802CamZim
"Just kidding, little sis.  We can get this banged out in no time!"

Zim has done this kind of work before, so I followed his lead.  He told me I should man the wheelbarrow while he shoveled the bark/mulch into it.  We were almost done when Mom snapped this photo:

"Ready for another load, Zim!"

"Hey, Cam!  Are we barking in the lilacs over here, too?"
"I think we have enough, Zim!"

We were able to do the tiers on both sides of the house, plus the main part of the garden in the front yard.  We worked long and hard, and eventually got it all laid in!

"You'd think Mom could at least hold the dust pan for me ..."

Dave came out to inspect our work after we got everything watered down and cleaned up!

"Wow, the redheads did a GREAT job!"

He walked all over, making sure we didn't miss anything!

"The peonies are about to pop open!"

Right in front of Dave's snooter in that photo above are some tiny flowers called Grecian Windflowers. It's the first year for them (Mom planted the seeds last year) so they aren't very big yet.  Zim and I had to be very careful not to stomp on them!

We dug up some Spirea that weren't doing well a couple weeks ago and put 3 new bushes in - they're looking good!

"The fresh mulch sure shows off the new Moonshadow Euonymous!"

It was nice of Dave to admire our work, wasn't it?  Mom and Dad were happy, too.  I think we can all agree that it was actually a GOOD day for barking!  (Ha buffbuffbuff!!!)

  12. I say that everyday is a good day for barking. Cam-a-Roo you sure are a hard worker like your brothers. And everything looks so very very beautiful. I'm headed out to wade in my back yard. Yes I said wade, it is flood the yard day. I like manning errr I mean dogging the flood gates. You have to make sure they are just so and adjust as necessary. Oh how the birdies love it when the yard gets flooded.
    Blessings,

  15. We could use your help at our estate. We got a big pile of that stuff too and Master has been doing 200 shovel fulls / day into the flower beds, but there is still a lot left (yes, he counts).
