Bird!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie.  As promised, I am here with a post more in keeping with our Serene Scenery Sunday type of posts.  We've just seen so many beautiful things lately, though, that we can't help but want to share them with you!  This post is all about the birds!

When we're out on our walks, we see lots of lovely birds!  We love it when we spot Cardinals!  I think this guy spotted us, too!

"Hello!"

This one looked like he was posing for us!

"Get my good side!"

And then his wife came over to check him out!

"I think you have a little piece of breakfast stuck on your beak!"

That wasn't the clearest shot, but we like it anyway!  (And don't worry, Mrs. Cardinal; we didn't notice his messy beak!)

We saw this Cedar Waxwing up in a tree:

Mom's photo came out looking like a water-color, but we have no idea why!

We also recently saw a Brown Thrasher!

He was singing a very pretty song!

We see lots of swallows swooping around on our walks.  This little on was resting up on a house gutter:

Mom said they're lots easier to photograph when they hold still!

We can see lots of pretty birds when we sit out on our deck, too!

"Birdie!"

The swallows love to catch bugs in the field back there, then perch up on the wires.

Look who else is doing a high wire act!

Why are Purple Finches red?  And why are Red Bud Trees purple?  Hmm...

Our last shot is a Common Grackle at sunset:

Mom loves how the sunset is lighting up his feathers!

As always, you are welcome to visit our FlickR set to see more of our bird photos.  I hope you enjoyed going birding with us!

  3. We love your birdies. The cardinals are our fav. If we tried that over here all you would get a pigeons and crows and maybe a magpie. Boring, boring , boring bar the fact I tried to roll in half a dead magpie the other day. Left over fox snack attack I fear. Have a terrific Tuesday.
    Best wishes Molly.

  4. Beautiful Birds!! I love them, you are so lucky to have all those different kinds. We get lots of Cardinals(which we love) but not as many of the other kinds that you have

  5. Great bird shots. Mrs. Cardinal was probably expecting the Mr. to feed her. They do that during courtship.

  7. I would like to know why a purple finch is red too. Are you enjoying the view from the deck, Cami?
