Serene Scenery Sunday - Wildflowers

Ha roo, pups and cool cats, it's me, Zim.  How about we go off on a wildflower safari today to find that Zen of Zim Zone?  Really!  What could be more lovely than a peaceful, quiet walk, looking at the lovely flowers God planted for us?  I know!  We could take Cammie with us - then it will be even better!

"C'mon, Cam!  Let's head out into the open prairie and find some wildflowers!"

Before we even left the neighborhood, we found this:

Isn't it pretty?  Here's another look:

I just had to stop to admire it!

"Beautiful!  And it smells nice, too!"

Cammie spotted this in a vacant lot:

I'm not sure what it's name is, so I'll call it a Very Small Yellow Wildflower.  That should cover it.  Latin name Tinii Yellowis Wildflowerus.  You can quote me on that.

We also saw a bunch of this:

Oh, sure.  Some people consider it a noxious weed, but it's pretty!  And hey!  One man's weed is another man's wildflower - right?

Let's leave that right there.  Now for the wildflower shoot I went on alone with Mom.  We saw a Prairie Rose:

One of us wasn't willing to walk through the tall grass to get a close-up shot.  I don't want to name names, but you can probably guess it's the one of us who has opposable thumbs and can work the camera.

Here's that white wildflower I showed you the other day:

Western Yarrow

We actually think it's Western Yarrow, not Queen Anne's Lace like I said.  Whatever!

Not only do I spot birdies for my mom, I spot wildflowers, too!

"Yellow Wildflowers at 11 o'clock, Mom!"

Then she can zoom in for a close-up!

We make a good team!  I also spotted a shrub-like wildflower out in the field:

"Give it the ol' zoom-a-roo, Mom!"

It was a Multiflora Rose!

Right out there in the middle of nowhere!  But we got to see it!  How cool is that?!

We hope you enjoyed our wildflower walk.  Doesn't seeing all that beauty God created make you feel all wonderful inside?  Me, too!  We need to remember to thank Him!

Have a great Sunday!

Play bows,
Zim

  9. You're so lucky! I don't have all those pretty flowers to sniff on my walks. We walk through our neighborhood, so the flowers are all up in the flowerbeds in the yards, and Momma starts pulling at us if we try to go up there. HRMPH!
