Uphill, All The Way

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  Earlier this week, we took an amazing family walk, exploring new territory, boldly going where no Siberians had gone before.  It was great!  Remember the pix Cam posted on her Cam-aversary?  Same walk.  We were on roads, we zig-zagged on paths across open fields, at one point we walked past the clubhouse at Colbert Hills Golf Course ... we were all over the place!

The most exciting part of our adventure was going up a new road!  And I do mean "up"!

"Good job, Mags!"
"Right back at ya, Dad!  Hey ... I think we lost Cam and Mom."

"I'm OK, I was tending to Mom.  I think she's ready for Dad to carry the camera now."

Right.  Mom was doing some birding along the way, so she was carrying the Canon and the 150-600mm lens - which together, according to her, weigh as much as a cannon.

She said she's not kidding. And she did play the Girl Card and took Dad up on his gallant offer to carry it the rest of the way up our hill. ... cause we weren't at the top yet!!!

After we did a bunch more of the up, up, and away, we came to a marker of some sort.

"Look at what we discovered!  It must be the North Pole!"
"How cool!  Look at that flag flapping around!"

I did what any other self-respecting puppy would do.

"Go, Maggie!"
"GOT IT!!!"

What can I say? I had to claim the North Pole in the name of Siberians everywhere!

Oh, I know what you're thinking.  No, I didn't see Santa, his reindeers, or any elves running around.  But given that we were walking uphill, and north is uphill, we HAD to have been close!  Am I right?

What a great walk!  Thanks for coming with us!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

  1. phew - that is one heavy looking camera - it is the one thing that puts Mom off buying such a thing - trying to walk with two dogs and carrying something like that would be a lot to handle

  4. MOM always says she likes going up rather than down. Something about bad knees. And that camera does look like it is a canon. Great walk girls. I enjoyed it from the comfort of MOM's lap.

Way to capture the flag, Maggie! We bet you were really close to Santa's North Pole digs...but since it is the off season, maybe he and the reindeer won't be around?

  12. That camera is huge - how does your Mom even lift it to her eyes??? Our Mom would fall over with it.

Now if we were on that walk and ran into that marker, silly boy Lightning would have done what all boys do - PEED on it- BOL

  13. Holy Dogs all the way to the North Pole. You must all be really tired. Get some rest before your next journey. I was expecting more snow at the North Pole.

  14. Your mom needs to get you a doggie backpack so you can carry that HUGE camera for her! After all, you are a working breed.
