Rainy Day In Kansas

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Today is the second rainy day in a row here in the great state of Kansas.  There is no lightning involved, so we did the very BEST thing to do in this kind of situation - we took Mom on a walk!

The Hudson Trail is lovely when it's raining!

"This is awesome, Cam-a-roo!"
"Isn't it?  I love the feel of the rain against my furs!"

We decided to take a little detour and go down this path to the right:

"Let's go right!"
"Yeah, Mom.  Let's go right!"
"Good idea, girls!"

She often lets us choose the route like that.  She said something about wanting to take a right anyway, to avoid some mud on the trail.  Frankly, if we'd known there was mud, we would have opted to stay straight!!!  Isn't the Hudson Trail wonderful?

Anyway, before we took the other path, I stopped to smell the daisies:

"Wonderful!"

On the way back home, we paused for a photo-op:

There's a chance a game of Crazed River Otters broke out after that.  A pretty good chance.

Speaking of which, we may have have another round or two after we got home.

After that, Mom finally remembered something.  A couple of weeks ago, our lovely kit-cat friend Madi showed us a cool magazine dedicated to her state - North Carolina.  We told her that we have a magazine like that here, too - Kansas! Magazine - and we've been meaning to show it to her and all of you!  We just got the latest issue in the mail the other day - with a special magazine about our state parks!

Me and Mags - and Kansas! Magazine!

Isn't that cool?  The magazine has beautiful photos of all the wonderful things you can go see and go DO in Kansas!  It's pretty awesome!  I wonder if there are any articles in there about how wonderful it is to walk in the rain?  They should.  It feels so good.  So does breaking out into a game of Crazed River Otters.  ... speaking of which, I feel another round coming on!

Enjoy your day!

Cammie!

  2. We are getting all that rain too. Just an hour ago Mom said it looked like it was clearing up - NOPE, it's raining again. We are hoping for an end by dinner time so we can get out for a walk. Maybe we will try a round of river otter games too - right where all the mud is on the trail:)
