Flower Friday

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  We are teaming up with Da DB Boyz to bring you Flower Friday! We thought we'd take a walk around our gardens right here at Ao4 Headquarters this week -- ready to take a look at what's in bloom?

Let's start things off with a shot of me looking at the Peonies:

Me checking out the Peonies.
Well, fine.  I was looking at some guys next door.  Whatever.

Or rather a shot of me not looking at the Peonies. Whatever. There was too much going on out there! Anyway, here are some of our Peonies! First, a couple shot with Mom's iPhone:

And now with the Canon 7D:

Mom just can't get enough of her Peonies!

The Purple Salvia is blooming, too:

And so are the Roses:

Rosebud with some kind of Gaussian blur thingie.  I have no idea.

Our other big bloomers right now are our Irises! We have purple ones:

And this color-combo:

What's blooming in your neck of the woods?

Thanks for joining us on our garden tour!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Gorgeous! I love the variety of Irises. At first I thought your purple salvia was Mexican sage, and I thought, wow, that's early to bloom, but looking closer I see it's a different variety. Bewootiful! We did a lot by seed this year in our raised beds, and they are still in sprout mode. What a nice variety of flowers!

  10. Wow, Maggie, those flowers are really beautiful. We've got lots of weeds and that's about it !
Seriously, our honeysuckle is absolutely covered with flowers and smells gorgeous, and Mom's six euro bougainvillea is coming along nicely too, it has pink and white flowers on the same stem ! Apart from that we have what Mom call's a dog's garden, from the time when she had three male dogs who liked to tear around the place and flatten everything.

  12. Our mom tried to plant some peonies and we dug them up! There were in the way of our tunnel to Siberia, so what did she expect? Right? So she will just have to enjoy yours!
