"Oh, this is so nice!" |
"Isn't this lovely, Maggie?" "Perfect, Cam! You should lay down and relax a bit!" |
That sounded like a great idea!
"Oh, yes. Very nice. Very nice indeed!" |
She does have some good ideas! And then ...
"How 'bout a hug, Cam?" "Oh, Maggie!" |
It was so sweet!
...
OK, she was really trying to get me to get back up and play. It's still cute, though.
Speaking of cute, Maggie was VERY interested in the deck in one spot. She was listening and cocking her head like she has done before (check it out at this link). Mom knew it must mean one thing -- our lean, not mean, bug-eating machine Bart the Bat had to be back! He hangs underneath our upper deck, and Mom can see him from the lower deck!
She got the camera and went down to try to get a shot of him. Not only was he there, but when Mom downloaded her photo, she saw a little surprise:
"Good eeeeevening--I mean morrrrrning. Keep it down, please; my friend is sleeping." |
Do you see the other bat behind him?!? Wow, is that ever exciting! No wonder Maggie was keying on him! He has a friend! Since one bat like Bart can eat over 12,000 mosquito-sized bugs an hour, Mom is mighty happy to see them! Bon appétit, bat friends!!!
What a fun morning!
Cammie!
Ohhhh Maggie and Cammie you gals know how to enjoy every single nanosecond of your day.
ReplyDeleteWE have a visitor too on/under/over deck. Cruel Carl the Carpenter Bee. I wish bats ate them but dang they are almost the size of mom's thumb.
We had to replace lots of wood with HardiPlank siding a few years ago. They can't eat that but now they've found another place to snack
Hugs madi your bfff
I hate to say it, girls, but mom and I are not huge fans of bats. We've had too many flying around inside our house in the past and mom will NEVER get over it!
ReplyDeleteHow cool to have bug eating friends close by.
ReplyDeleteWell... Mom is just glad they are YOUR bats. But we agree, skeeter eaters have their uses.
ReplyDeleteMisty likes to bug the boys when they are resting. She just drops a toy on their heads:)
ReplyDeleteCool bats - Mom says they would freak her out.
Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Hurray for built-in mosquito repellent!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Bart!

What a lovely way to cool down after your walk! Welcome back, Bart and friend!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO cool! How big are those bats? Do you think that there may be baby bats in the future? Wow, I am so excited. Maggie has an amazing nose - she's a bat-tracking dog!
ReplyDeleteI think they are Little Brown Bats - about 3-4 inches long. It would be so cool if they had a baby! Bats normally only have one - they can have twins, but not often. I hope they let me have a photo session if they do. LOL.
DeleteOoooooooo! I hopes they have little bats! That would be so cool! OMD, we needs some of them here! I'll try and talk Ma into it....she gots hit by one when she was a wee one, and kinda freaks her out, butts we have all kinds of buggies I would likes them to gets!
ReplyDeleteOh, and HOW CUTE!!! You gurls are the sweetest Sibes!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Cool! your own bat friends! Sometimes we see some flying around at night

Oooh, Bart has a friend! Maybe she's a ladyfriend, and you'll have little baby-bats eating mosquitos too! I think Bart's friend needs a name too.
ReplyDeleteLady would have screamed and not gotten the picture. You lady is brave.
ReplyDeleteWooo we working breeds are so helpful to our humans. Great job Maggie.
ReplyDeleteWooos

Wow! That is very cool to have Bart the bat and friend living at your house! And extra cool that your mom could get a shot of them for us to see!
