Huffle!

Ha roo everypuppy and kitty! It's me, Zimmie! And Ammie's here with me, too. Did you see the BFF Card in Stormy's post yesterday!?!? Well, guess what!?!? Our friend, the lovely and charming Huffle just gave it to the two of us!!

Why us? Huffle said, "Zimmie is my best friend! And if I was a real Husky (not just an honorary one) I'd want to look just like Amber!" Oh, you just can't imagine how touched we are! Ammy just couldn't believe how sweet Huffle is - even though I keep TELLING her!

We were in the front yard when we got the exciting news; Ammy was so excited, she jumped up and gave me a hug!

Zimmie, isn't Huffle the sweetest kitty!?!?

Then we just kind of hung out for a while. After a rousing play session. I was just THINKING about Huffs, when Mom asked about her...

My Huffle-sensors went off. So did Ammy's.

I wonder if she's out there, Zim!
I wonder, too, Am! I think ... I think she might be!

I know what you're thinking. Huffle is in Australia and we're smack in the middle of the US of A. True... but like I said, my Huffle-sensors were picking something up. I led Mom and Am down the street.

Over there, Mom! No... further to the right! On Meloan's patio!

HUFFLE?!?! Is that YOU!?!?

Well, whoever the kitty was, it wasn't Huffs, 'cuz she ignored us completely. Huffle would NEVER blow us off like that.

Thanks for the award, Huffle! And especially thanks for being my best friend! AND for your kind words about Ammy. She keeps blushing!

Play bows,
Zimmie

Thank You, Friends!

Stormy here today - tail wags to all! Have you seen the "Blogging Friends Forever" card yet? We are most honored to have just received it!

Our favorite pirate-pup Cap'n Maverick presented it to Zim, our new friends Kayla and Maebe gave it to Dave ("cuz he's a cutie!" -- really girls, DAVE?!?), and I am most honored to have been presented the BFF card by Star and Jack-a-roo (because I'm the Supreme Commander of the Ao4)!

I feel so honored!

The rules are to give this award to five friends (and only 5) who are dedicated followers of your blog; one has to be a new blogger in a different part of the world. Please link back to whoever gave you this award.

OK! The first recipient was chosen by all of us - our sister Amber! We're a pack and we stick together; we are happy to share with each other!

We also decided together to present the card to Oorvi! She writes a very clever blog and lives in a totally different part of the world - India!

Zim had a hard time deciding, but after a great deal of thought chose to honor his favorite Beagle duo, Jazz and Dixie of Japan. They are totally adorable and post some of the sweetest Beagle pix imaginable. They also share wonderful photos of Japan with us, showing the beauty of their country and helping educate us about the different festivals and history!

Everyone's favorite Guide Dog for the Color Blind - Dave - chose a biped! He's really been enjoying Dana's blog, over at Old Red Barn Company. Not only does he love the way she puts colors together, but he's been grooving out to the music she has on the blog. Lately, it's been Paolo Nutini with "New Shoes". (Dave still would like some Sibe-sized Crocs, so his feety-feet don't get wet in the grass.) Dave usually goes for different music, but he's starting to branch out. Maybe Dana's blog will inspire new color combos for him, too!

I would like to pass the award on to my very dear friends in New Zealand - Team Husky! Prince, Summer and their new pack-mate Sesuk. Sesuk just joined them last month, so she is new to blogging!

Congratulations to all of our blogging friends - and many thanks for Maverick, Kayla & Maebe, and Star & Jack!

Tail wags,
Storms

Sunday Salute - Bart!

Our Sunday Salute goes to our friend Bart the Bat!

Good eeeeevening!

That's right - he's back! We first introduced you to Bart back in May of 2007. Zim told you all about how Bart lives on the underside of our upper deck and Storm posted about him in August of last year, with some better photos. (Bart's a little camera-shy.)

Bart is a Brown Bat, we believe, and as such he can eat 1,200 mosquito-sized insects per hour! Half of his own body weight per night! Mom said that with all the rain we've gotten lately, the mossies are horrible, so she was quite happy to see the return of Bart! Mosquitoes are bad news for us pups, too, so anyone who spends every waking hour trying to wipe them out is OK in our book!

Bart, for your non-stop mosquito killing skills....... we salute you!

A Body Guard For Huffle

Ha roo, pups and kitty-cats! It's me - Zimmie. As many of you know, my best friend Huffle Mawson had to sack her body guard, Polie. Kind of sad, really. I wasn't too surprised, having some experience with polar bears myself. You just can't turn your back on them!

Anyroo, I asked Huffle if she'd like me to interview body guards for her. She thought that would be a good idea, so I gave it a go. I thought I'd look around the front guest room for possible candidates.

I hadn't been in there for a while - for some reason, Mom keeps the door shut. I have no idea why. When I got in, I had to explore a little.

Hey, Huffle! Are you 'down under' there? Ha roo roo roo.

Get it? Huffle is Australian... OK, Ammy giggled, at least. I stopped clowning around and got to work. Check out who approached me first!

Psst! Hey, Zim! Whatcha doing in here?

Oh, no! Not the polar bear! He tried to convince me he was up to the challenge of keeping my best kit-cat pal safe...

Ha! Pinned you!

...but really, she already tried a polar bear, and he just didn't work out!

A stuffed puppy approached me next, but all he seemed to want to do was lay on the bed.

Not a bad idea, but not exactly what you need in a body guard.

Dave came in and grabbed an armadillo.

It was about to attack, honest.
I'm from Texas; I know about these guys!

He said since armadillos have their own coat of armor, he might be a good body guard for Huffle. I wasn't real sure. Stormy said when they get scared, they curl up into tight balls. That doesn't seem like the right reaction for a body guard. I kept looking.

This little guy seemed pretty cool.

Does he remind you of anybunny? Yeah ~ Oswald! And based on what I've seen, he comes from pretty brave stock, but I'm not sure if he's body guard material. His relatives seem more into gardening, not security!

Storm said I had the right idea by thinking small. She said the less obtrusive, the better -- Huffle can relax around someone on the little side, and anyone trying to get to her will have his/her guard down. Hmm. I think I found the perfect guy! I just know Huffle will like him!

Perfect!

Isn't he cool?! He's a little mousie! I asked him his name, and he wouldn't tell me. Oooh, sort of secretive. That's good for a body guard, isn't it? I think he might do a good job for Huffle!

What? You don't think so?

Well, I sent him to Huffle, so we'll just have to see! I have faith in him! If nothing else, I thnk they'll be pals. He should be in Australia by next weekend.

In other news, I would like to thank our fluffy-tailed friend Khyra for presenting us (and our fellow SMSers) with this cool award!

Thanks, Khyra! We truly appreciate it!!!

Play bows to all!
Zim

Woo. It's me, Dave. I'm sorry, but I'm unable to get to the blog right now.

Please leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Woo.

PS: Mom and I just put these groovy new fabs in the wash. Rumor has it, we're going to order some blue camo later on today! I LOVE blue!

Oh, hey... is the computer free now?

Quick Storm in the Garden

Tail wags, pups and kit-cats! It's Stormy. Mom brought the camera along for my play session in the back yard the other day. She put me on the big leash (it's 25 feet long) while we checked for bunnies.

We went all over the garden, then I checked on the Butterfly Weed Aunt Janet sent us. Oh... err, yeah. She sent two; Oswald said they're tasty. Ooops. Anyroo, here's how the one he left is doing:

Isn't it pretty? Here's a close-up!

What a great splash of color!

Mom didn't see Oswald anywhere, so she unhooked me and I ran around for a while. I was so fast, Mom couldn't get a good shot of me. Ha roo! When Mom said, "OK, Storm! Let's head in!" I raced up the hill and onto the deck. I felt kind of sorry for her that she didn't get a good shot of me playing, so I stopped on the deck and struck a pose while I waited for her to catch up.

Yeah. She was so excited, she messed up my lighting. I felt so good after running around that I actually stayed there and let her try again.

Sometimes - just sometimes - we should reward our bipeds. (Just don't cooperate too much, or they'll expect it from you!)

Tail wags,
Storms

Zimmle Mawson, Explorer Pup

Ha roo, everypup and kit-kat! It's me - Zim! Did you see the cool pictures my best kit-cat pal Huffle Mawson posted the other day? Yeah, the ones of her out exploring the garden! Didn't she look cool!?!? I love exploring in our garden, too. Mom took this picture of me the other day and it reminded me of Huffle! Check this out!

Zimmle Mawson, Explorer Pup!

Ha roooooo! Cool, huh? Huffs and I have SO much in common!

After I explored, I decided I wanted to play with a Wubba! Mom gave me a choice of the camo one, or either of the two Steve and Kat sent us. I went for the green one.

Isn't it cool? (Just for the record, I'm NOT the one who put the teeth marks in the Wubba.)

I actually chased after it and stuff - I don't usually do that!

Ha roooo!

I really liked playing with it. Here is a cool action video of me!

When Mom realized I really wanted to play, she threw it a little further for me. Like I said, I'm not usually into chasing stuff, but I really had FUN! We did lots of throws and chases; for some reason, Mom has a hard time throwing and using the camera at the same time, so we just played for a while. She did take one more vid. Here I am:

As you can probably tell, I was done with the chasing stuff after that last throw. I decided to admire the view for a while...

I looked into the neighbors' yard and saw Oswald over there. I think he was watching me play. Does anypup or kitty know if they make Bunny Wubbas? He might want one.

Hey, Os! Yeah, it's a Wubba. Isn't it cool?

After I was done playing, Mom took a great shot of me. I already sent it to my gorgeous girlfriend Sitka; I knew she'd appreciate it.

Hey, babe!

Pretty irresistable, don't you think?

Play bows,
Zim

Sigh!

Hi everypuppy and everycat. It's me - Ammy! I got the most wonderful surprise in the mail yesterday ... but before I get into that, I wanted to thank our friends over at Jan's Funny Farm for presenting us with the "Arte-y-Pico" Award! You are so kind - thank you for the honor!

I just couldn't believe it when Mom brought the mail in yesterday. There was a really big envelope and some things for Mom were in it, but then I KNEW there was something else in there. Something VERY special! LOOK!

It's BRICE! My very handsome boyfriend, Brice! Sigh! I could gaze into those eyes of his all day long!

He even signed it, "Love, Brice". "Love." Sigh.

I got to go out and play in the yard a little bit, too, like Davy did. Only I didn't really care about the Wubba. You know ... the one Holly sent ALL of us. Not just Davy. ALL of us. I wasn't in the mood to play, though. All I could think about was Brice.

Sigh. Brice. He's so handsome...

Just thinking about him made me smile. Then... I thought I smelled Oswald. He had been prowling around (or whatever bunnies do) all morning. My expression and posture changed and I started to go on the hunt. That's when Mom decided I should be on the big leash.

Oswald? Are you down there?

Our friends Thor and Marco Polo asked why Dave was trailing a big leash behind him during his play session. Basically, it's Oswald's fault. He doesn't exactly clear out of our AO like he should when we come out to play in our yard. I think maybe Stormy granted him and his family sanctuary in our yard. Hrmph! Anyway, Mom doesn't want to see us do what might come naturally to us (please Google "prey drive" and "Siberian Husky" some time...) so if Oswald is around, she has a leash on us as a safety net. Like in the play session Davy showed you yesterday, Mom wasn't holding it, but it was there if she needed it.

Thanks again to our friends at JFF for the cool award! And ... sigh ... thank roo to my special, handsome Brice for the 8x10 glossy. Sigh. Have I mentioned how handsome he is?

Love,
Ammy

It's MINE, All MINE!

Woo, everypup and kitty. It's me - Dave! I got a very special box in the mail the other day. It was from my very bee-woo-tiful Malagalfriend, Hollybollyboo and her mom! Sure... it was addressed to all FOUR of us, but when I saw what was inside, I knew it was MINE, all MINE!

It's a camo Wubba! Here's a cool video of my first play session with it!

Isn't it COOL!?!?

Mom and I went outside to play with it before it got WAY too hot yesterday; our backyard still had morning shade.

Here I come!

I just loved running after it and bringing it back and playing tuggy-tug!

I love my new toy!

Here is another vid of me playing with it!

Isn't it the coolest?! And it's MINE, all MINE!

Thank woo, Hollybollybeewootifulboo!

Luv,
Dave

Sunday Salute - Our Great Sisters (Again!)

We did a whole month-long Sunday Salute to our great sisters back in April, but we scanned in some really cool pictures of them we haven't shared yet. This seemed like the perfect time to let you see some great action shots of Jesse and Lucky!

These are shots from the training facility for the Military Working Dogs at SHAPE HQs in Belgium. A lot of you do agility or do cool training, so we thought you might be interested in seeing the paces a very cool RAF Sergeant put Jesse and Lucky through! In his spare time, he offered some obedience classes to the bipeds assigned to SHAPE (and Heaven knows, ours STILL need all the obedience work they can get! Ha roo roo roo!) and let the pups blow off some energy on the Military Working Dogs' obstacle course! Without further ado....

Here's Lucky, jumping through a window to save someone!

Doesn't she look COOL!??! And here's Jesse, making her way across a VERY high log to make a rescue!

Bill, the RAF Sergeant, didn't think the bigger dogs would be able to do this; he was very impressed with the girls!

Here's Lucky, coming off a similar obstacle!

Both of them liked going through the window thingy! Here's Jesse:

Followed closely by Luck:

Here's another round with Lucky - look closely through the window! One of the RAF working dogs is checking her out! Ha roo roo roo!

He probably wanted to run around, too!

You may have noticed the girls are on-lead. Even though the working yard was fenced in, Mom and Dad needed to "focus" where they'd go. Sort of like with us in our backyard. There was one obstacle they really loved - it was a group of oil cans that were laced together. The challenge was to climb up there at a run, then come down. Jesse and Lucky loved getting up there, it was a breeze for them ... but once there, they had a great view into where the RAF working dogs were kennelled... and ... well, it was a bit distracting. :) Here's a look:

Jesse: Hey, Lucky, look! We can see those handsome working dogs!
Lucky: Oh, yeah! I think that Yellow Lab has a crush on me!
Dad: Jesse... come on down! Come on, Jesse!
Mom: Lucky? Lucky??

Ha roo roo roo! Here's another great one of Lucky training Mom:

The conversation went something like this:
Mom: Over, Luck!
Lucky: No.
Mom: C'mom, Luck! Over!
Lucky: Not gonna happen.
Mom: Jesse just did it! You've done it before! You LOVE this one!
Lucky: I don't feel like it.
Mom: Please?
Lucky: No.

How can you do anything other than totally admire BOTH of our great sisters?!? We salute them!

Beat the Heat

Tail wags, pup and kit-cats. It's me, Stormy. Dave's here with me, too, and sends a big "woo" out. It's going to be over 100 degrees here today, so we're all finding indoor activities to keep us busy.

Dave and I will be tied up in a meeting the rest of the morning. Maybe more.

We're discussing important matters.

Siberian matters.

This could take a while.

Stay cool!

Tail wags,
Stormy

Umm...

Umm... hi everypuppy. And everykitty. It's me - Ammy. I just want to let you know that I have NO idea how this happened to the Tuffie toy that my very dear and bee-roo-tiful friend Khyra sent me.

Really.
You believe me, don't you?

Hmm. Well, I'm sure Brice the Handsome believes me!

Ho dee doh dee doh...

Love,
Ammy (AKA... Jaws of Steel)

PS: For the record, Dave and Mom were playing with it, then Davy went to get a drink and so I took it and the next thing I knew there was fluff coming out of it! Davy said HE didn't do it, and I'm SURE you can tell by looking up there at my sweet, innocent face that I certainly wouldn't do that ... so I can only come to ONE conclusion. Mom did it. Really!
