Hi everypuppy and everycat! It's me - Amber! I got to go to the Spa yesterday! Or at least that's what Mom told me. I should have known something was up when I didn't get my breakfast, though. Hmm.
Anyway, I had my semi-annual Senior Care exam at the Kansas State University Vet Med Teaching Hospital. When we got into the Admissions area, I made sure everyone knew I was there so they could get everything ready. Mom said we'd wait outside for some reason, so we did some exploring for a while.
Me at the KSU Vet Med Teaching Hospital
While I was out there, I met a very nice Great Pyrenees boy - or as I told Zim later, at least a pretty good one. :)
Before too long, some very nice students came out and met us and we went back inside. Once I was in the exam room, I was quiet and cooperative -- for a Siberian Husky. My students, Sara and Jen and a couple freshman, were all very nice to me and were very good at examining me without being intrusive! They're going to be very wonderful vets! I also got to see Rachel the Vet Tech and Dr. Nelson! They did all kinds of things to me, to include a full body massage, and said I was a good girl and Mom was pleased with all the news they gave her. Yea!
Unlike my mom who starved me that morning, they gave me cookies - and even squirted CHEESE on them! Dr. Nelson did that - isn't she wonderful?!?
Jen and Sara had heard about our blog and asked if we were going to blog about my visit. Sounded like a good idea to me! I even posed with them! Here we are:
(If I look odd, my eyes were dilated.)
Once we got to Discharge, I made my presence known again (how else will they know whose paperwork to pull?), then we headed home.
Not really a day at the Spa, but I did get a massage, had my nails done, and had some quality girl-time. A big thank you to Sara and Jen, the freshman team, Rachel and certainly to Dr. Nelson! You all are a key part of helping us all stay in top form!
Love,
Ammy
Good for you Ammy! I'm glad you got a good report from the vets. How nice of them to give you cookies with cheese!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you missed out on breakfast though :(
Huffle Mawson
Maybe if you had had breakfast, you could have been a little more subtle about letting everyone know you were ready to come in and ready to go out. But, hey, everyone needed to know that Ammy was there!
ReplyDeleteP.S. - Did you get to stop for a special breakfast on the way home? That would have only been fair.
Hi Ammy
ReplyDeleteCan we first of all say that we are appalled that your mom is starving you!!!!
And she told you it was a Spa Day -does she think us dogs are stupid or something?
We are very pleased that the news was good and that you got some food!
Sounds like you have a pretty cool vet and we are glad you taught those students a thing or two.
Well done Ammy - we expect brunch to follow.......

so happy everything went well - we are usually pretty good at dr bonnie's but all those little yappy city dogs do annoy us a little

Hey, Ammy, good for you for getting a good checkup and having a little fun at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI love my vet too, I hope she stays furever!
Kisses,
Stella
oh wow! What wonderful results and what an amazing and fun day you had Amber! I am so pleased for you!!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, of course, as always I am very puzzled about one thing (only one thing you ask yourself? This is Marvin 'Lite' possibly!) (BOL!!)...well here is my query.
I wonder what the Great Boy's Knees looked like? You didn't include a photo, and you did say you met a "very nice great pair of knees." I would quite liked to have seen you with said knees.
;0D
Congratulations on your successful visit and your students, hospital and of course Spa.....look very pleasant indeed.
Just no knees. Nothing like a knee to lick in my humble Marvin opinion.
lotsaluv, Marvin xxxxxx Who else?
Nice pic Ammy, it looks like they loved you.. :-)

Your vets are the best (and cutest) vets around. We're glad you got good news and cookies and squirty cheese.
ReplyDeleteSteve
Ooh lucky you my vet doesn't give me food but he does give good cuddles
ReplyDeleteThat's GREAT news! :) How lucky you got cookies and cheese at the vet! My vet does not give me anything good like that. Hmph!
ReplyDeleteHope you got some special attention when you got home since you had to skip breakfast!

Wooo! I am so glad you got a clean bill of health. It is nice to get some of those interns. They tend to be nicer the crotchety old vet who doesn't care. Keep up the vocals when you arrive.
ReplyDeleteCookies with cheeze make it all ok.

Glad to hear you got a good report from the vets Ammy! I bet they gave you special treatment since you're such a pretty girl! Did you happen to see any Wildcats while you were at K-State?
ReplyDeleteAmber, that vets visit didn't sound so bad. At least you got some cookies with cheese.
ReplyDeleteHi Ammy! Wow, cookies and cheese..! Makes me wanna go to that spa! By the way great to know that your reports are all good!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Maxx
I'm glad you got a good report. That is very important for us "seniors". I've never had my eyes dilated even tho Mom works for an eye doc. I sure hope your Mom made up for making you skip breakfast. Doesn't she know breakfast is the most important meal of the day?
ReplyDeleteSnuggles,

Herro Ammy :D
ReplyDeleteI think its great that you are so assertive at the 'spa' - letting them now that you're there and ready to be seen!
I did that once by jumping up on the counter and nearly knocking a jar of bully sticks onto the vet nurse!
smooches,
Mr Darcy
Ammy! that is so great to get fussed over at the "spa!" Let's see, how in the world did you let everyone know you were there? I can't IMAGINE how you did that! I'll bet you gave Loki lessons, cuz he's really good at letting everyone know when he arrives places too! While my sibe is very sweet and demure.
ReplyDeleteWe went to the "spa" last week too and had our nails done. Juno had to have extra attention which made her make a funny smell out her "glands"... ewwwww! well, Loki deals with his anxiety with his bitin' end, and juno deals with anxiety with her stinkin' end! LOL...
Ammy you were very smart to get your annual spa check up! Good job!
Hugs from Loki, Juno and their Wild Dingo mom.
Have a great day :d
ReplyDeletehugs and kisses from kikos world
I think I like your spa day at the vets better than mine. I'm still bruised up where they took blood - twice!
