Let's Go to the Park!

Tail wags, all.  It's me - Storm.  Before I turn today's post over to Ammy, I just want to wish my little sister a VERY happy birthday today on behalf of me and the boys!  That's right, our sweet, little redhead was born 10 years ago today!  On Groundhog Day!  Quite apropos for our resident meteorologist, wouldn't you say?  To read more about Groundhog Day and Ammy, please see this link.  It explains a lot.  OK - over to Ams; Storm out.

Hi everypuppy and everykitty!  It's me, Ammy!  Thank roo very much to Stormy and my brothers for the birthday wishes!  Both Storm and Davy have already tested being 10 and said it's really fun, so I'm looking forward to this!

It was a funny weather day on Friday; the temps tried to hover around 50, but we had 20-30 mile an hour very cold winds, so the temperatures kept going up and down.  It was very nice.  Zim and I decided we should take a walk to CiCo Park.  It's only about a mile from Ao4 HQs to CiCo and we go there a lot.  This time we got to walk WAY around it and through it and everything - we walked for about an hour and a half and had a lot of fun!

Here we are in one of the pavillions they use for all kinds of things.  I like to look for pigeons in there; sadly, there were none that day.

Zim and me, looking for pigeons

Zimmie hopped up on some benches and did poses in his very cool Steelers bandana.

Zim strikes a pose

We wove around a bit on some cool paths...

Zim

...then got to the far side of the park.  We headed down the main path ... and there it was!

The Trippy-Trap Bridge

When I was a little girl, I was a little bit afraid of crossing the Trippy-Trap Bridge.  I heard there were big, gruff billy goats that lived under there.  Or hung out there.  Or maybe something about a troll.  I don't know... but I didn't like the Trippy-Trap Bridge.  My daddy taught me there's nothing to be afraid of at all, so now I go over it with no fear!

Let's go, Zim!

Shouldn't we check the AO for billy goats or trolls or something?

Nope!  We're good.  I don't believe in that stuff anymore!

I assured him there was no need, we continued on across, then eventually headed home.  It was a great trip to the park!

You were real brave back at the Trippy-Trap Bridge, Am!
Thanks, Zimmie!

I hope you enjoyed coming with us to the park!

Love,
Ammy

PS:  For those who may not have heard yet, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow... so he's calling for six more weeks of Winter.

  1. Bummer about the shadow,I didn't want 6 more weeks of winter. I looks as though you had a fun walkie. I had to stay in and take care of the humans and Kira, as she is sick.

  8. Happy Birthday wishes, Ammy, from me, mom and Ali Z.

I don't believe anybody about winter predictions. We have winter here until April and several times, the first day of fishing season the first week of May, the lakes were still frozen, or thats what you-know-who says! So we are not packing up our longies for a longie time! I'm sure you are good at predicting but we are 2 far NORTH!

Get lots of Birthday goodies, and enjoy some special treats, Ammy!

    Kisses,
    Stella

  12. Happy birthday, Ammy!!! Two of the OP Pack have reached 10 or more and they think it is OK too. That is another very nice park woo visited. We go over two of those bridges everyday we get to walk, but we never thought about there being trolls under them - we will be more cautious now.

Hope woo have a wonderful day!

  13. oh my Ammy, dearest one! First of all Happy Barkday!

Secondly (dearie me, you know when my comments are going to be as long as my blog posts, when I begin numbering them!?), we here love Groundhog Day film, watched it and watched it, so very funny!

My Jeannie started to hate the song though "I've got You Babe" Sonny and Cher..........

Also, she barks to me about how when she was a wee girl, she was frightened of the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff and the Trippy Trap Bridge........(who did that song??????)............she thinks it was a personage called Burl Ives, but I think she is wrong.

I don't know much about pigeons, but you had a fun day.

    lotsaluv and Barkday Wishes.

    My Funny Valentine, Ammy!

    Marvin xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ps from my Jeannie, "who did sing the song about the trippy trap bridge and the three billy goats gruff, it used to scare me silly when I was young!???"

  25. Happy Birthday Amber!! That is so neat that your birthday is on Groundhog's Day! I loved the picture of your post from before with you and the groundhog...very funny! I knew about Phil's prediction because Mom told me....YUCK, I say! I hope he just meant the east side of the country. ;) However, Mom took her class outside and they saw their shadows too so I don't know what that means. Anyway, have a super week and I hope you get some yummy treats for your birthday. :)

    Kisses,
    Nala
