First up ... oh.
"How did I get up here?!?" |
Sometimes my legs carry me places so fast I can't remember how I got there. And then there's the whole "coming down" thing.
"No, wait. I've got this!" |
"Yep! Piece of kibble! The stairs are no challenge for this Prime Minister!" |
I'm always up for a good challenge!
Another lesson, one I think I've shared with you before, is the timing of cute poses, as evidenced below:
"Quick, Maggie. Look cute." "Got it covered, CamCam!" |
So what if I was chewing on Cammie's collar? I looked CUTE! It's like Zim told both of us girls - if Mom stops to take a picture, that "trouble" word gets tossed right out the window.
I also learned this week, due to a couple days of 30-47 mph winds, that crispy Fall leaves don't last forever ...
... so you should eat as many as you can while you can!
Did I mention the killer head tilt? Aunt Cammie is really good at this one - and so is Zimmie! I've been practicing, and it seems to have the desired effect on my mom and dad. Run this by your bipeds and see what happens. Ready?
Start with a little tilt to one side ...

"GASP! Where did all of my leaves go?!?!" |

Start with a little tilt to one side ...
... then swivel your head over to the other side, like so:
Zim said we should all learn and perfect it. You never know when you might need it.
One of the other big lessons I learned this week was how to walk in a harness! Yes, just like a grown up sled doggie! See... as the Prime Minister, I should be out front, taking the lead when we go on our Road Marches. True, I still only get to go as far as the corner, but it's important for me to be the first one there. I haven't learned not to pull like a ... well, seriously, like a Siberian Husky ... and Mom was worried about me hurting my trachea or my neck. My friend Beth showed Mom how to do a make-shift harness out of a slip lead (like this), and that helped a lot. Mom thought a harness was a good, safe solution, so she ordered an adjustable one that should fit me for a while. In the meantime, I get to wear one that my great-brother Dave wore!!! Check it out:
"How do I look, ZimZim?" "Squared away, kid!" |
It's a little too big for me right now, but at the rate I'm going, it won't be for long! I'm just glad I'm able to walk with the big dogs now! And lead them!
"Oooh, look, you guys! They still have leaves here!!!" |
Those are just a few of the important lessons I worked on this week. I'm also learning silly things like "sit", "leave it", and "off", but Zim and Cammie said the ones I shared with you are far more important!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
Looking good in Dave's harness. Maybe wearing it will channel Good Dog Dave vibes.

You know wearing Dave's harness all butt insures you will master the road march in no time flat. I am now going to go practice the head tilt. That is VERY important to master.

Onwards and upwards MT and like your name sake lead from the front and no U turns LOL. Glad you are prefacing the head tilt....never fails. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
OMD Margaret T.,
ReplyDeleteThe Stairs really were a piece of kibble fur you. We like that toy.
Hi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great ideas! I'll try that head tilt on my Humans!
Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
So cute!! Particularly the head tilt!
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie, I think your lessons are spot on. I especially like the "if Mom stops to take a picture, that "trouble" word gets tossed right out the window" as was witnessed by my yarn bombing of our kitchen earlier this week. Keep up the good work.

Maggie, you are learning so much, you must be waaaaaaaay smart. You are doing a good job with the killer head tilts, you had my Mommy going crazy "Ooooooohing and Ahhhhhhhhhing" over here. You are such a cutie. I can't wait to see what you are up to next. You have such good examples to help you in Cammie and Zim.

We will definitely be working on the head tilt, Maggie. We can see that it's getting you good things and we want good things too!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Miss Cammie,
ReplyDeleteI have a question for you. Why does the wee creature wear her leash inside? My guess is your mom is a smarty pants and knows something or two about raising a puppy. I'd love to have you explain it to your readers.
Kisses,
Dexter
Don't worry too much about "off" Maggie. It doesn't mean much.
ReplyDeleteNora
You're so smart, Maggie! Let me teach you about "off". It means that your momma wants you to look EXTRA cute for a second. Just go ahead and pull out the eyes and the head tilt, and she'll laugh and come give you some nice scritches and cuddles. It's my favorite command!
