"Prairie Dogs in the Ed Center, but not Siberians. Reeeee-lly." "Such a double standard." |
Yeah. Right there. Anyway, on to the birdies!
We saw a good number of these guys:
Double-Crested Cormorant |
And lots and lots of ducks!!!
Lesser Scaups and Green-Winged Teals |
American Wigeon |
Buffleheads |
We saw Mom's very favorite!
Northern Shoveler |
Tiny Ruddy Ducks |
Mallards |
Mostly Green-Winged Teals |
Most of the shorebirds are gone now, but a few of these guys are still here:
Greater Yellowlegs |
We have lots of gulls that come through Kansas; these guys are the most abundant in the Winter:
Ring-Billed Gulls |
Those are the highlights from that trip!
"I think that's a wrap, folks!" |

What can we say? Birding is hard work! Thanks for coming along with us!
Yours sincerely,

We agree - prairie dogs, not Sibes??? The unfairness of the universe. We can see how little both of you approve of THAT.
ReplyDeleteThose birdies sure did tire you two out - sweet dreams. We saw a couple of those green headed mallards on our walk today along with a couple of BIG deer!!!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
We're bet you're dreaming of birdies! We sure would be after seeing all those cool birdies! Looks like a fun day!
ReplyDeleteAmazing how many different birds you see!

I think these birdies are getting used to your visits and look forward to seeing you again and again and having their pictures taken. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely birdies! Mama says the ducks must all be stopping at your house this year, we haven't had as many as we usually do at our marsh this year.
ReplyDeleteOMD...Maggie, were you sleeping?? Who is helping your Dad navigate home??

Getting all those amazing shots really tires a pup out!

Murphy & Stanley
We love all the duck pictures! When your mom is taking pictures, how on earth do you stay quiet and not scare the ducks away? (We would be going out of our minds!)
