Packing It All Up

Greetings to all!  It's me, Mags.  Cam and I helped with the New Year's day tradition of taking all the Christmas decorations.  It was most fun out on the deck - we even got a treat for helping out there!

Mom, Cam, and I tackled all the indoor stuff together.  While Cam  napped  supervised from the living room, making sure we didn't drop anything, Mom and I took all the ornaments off the garland up on the catwalk.  I spent some time admiring everything one more time before it was all packed up for the year.

"Oooh, the pretty Arizona snowflake from Auntie Donna!!!"
"I know!  I love this one!"

And then, it was like Mom was trying to sneak something past me real fast.

"Wait a minute, Mom. What's th---SOCK MONKEY!!!"
"Oh.  Err... hello, Maggie!  BODY GUARDS!!!  Where are you!!???!!"

Then Mom took those Reindeer bodyguards Sock Monkey hired and expected me to POSE with all of them!!!

"C'mon, Mags!  You all look so cute together!"
"Seriously, Mom?"
"I've got her leg, Sock Monkey."
"Heh heh heh ... can't touch me, Mags."
"We've got you, Socks."

Oh, sure.  "Cute"?  I invite you all to step back in the Ao4 Digest archives with me ... these same reindeer captured my great sister Amber, held her hostage, and ... well, who knows what they were going to do!  Thanks to the bravery of our dear great friend Luna in Miami and great brother Zimmie, she was freed -- but those reindeer are TROUBLE!!!  Please read here and here.  It's worth it.

Meanwhile ...

"Just ... don't leave me alone with these reindeer, Mom."
"Oh, trust me - I won't, Maggie."
"C'mon!!!  Big smiles everyone!!!"

So ... Sock Monkey has once again been packed up safely - with his bodyguards.  Maybe next year.  May ... be next year.
