Even More To Celebrate!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  This was a big week for us here at Ao4 Headquarters.  Not just Flag Day and the US Army birthday, but I had two vet appointments.  First up was my big Oncology re-check!

In addition to a thorough exam, the lovely people at Oncology wanted to redo x-rays and an ultrasound, to make sure no cancer had popped up anywhere.  After my appointment with my very favorite Oncologist Dr. Coffee, I needed to wait until Radiology had an opening.  Mom stays there with me, so it wasn't a problem at all.

IMG_9074CamVets
"It won't be too long, Cam.  And I'm right here, OK?"
"No problem, Mom.  My, those puppers sure are making a lot of noise ..."

We just chilled in the waiting room.  I get to visit with lots of nice people, plus since we knew it would be a while, we took a nice walk-break:

IMG_9073CamVets
"Ah!  This is nice!"

It was still nice and cool out, so I enjoyed that very much!

After Radiology, we waited to do Discharge stuff with Dr. Coffee. Since my ultrasound was behind me, I was able to do this:

SnacksCamVets
"YUMMERZ!"

I had to fast beforehand, so Mom brought my breakfast for me! She forgot my bowl, so she hand-fed me. I liked that!

So, anyway, it was all good news from the wonderful people at Oncology! (Pending official Radiology readings.)

The next day, I had an appointment with my "routine" vet at Pet Health -- just for a vaccination and a titer test. Mom could have scheduled both for the same day, but didn't want me to have too much all at once. I was fine with that, since I didn't have to fast!

I decided to wear my special bandana to celebrate the prior day's news:

IMG_9096CamVets
"It's a bit quieter in here today!"

One of the Oncology vet nurses saw me in the exam room and came in to give me hugs.  How nice is that?!?

I saw my favorite routine vet Dr. Nelson and my favorite vet nurse Beth from Pet Health!  They gave me treats.  Oddly, they seemed very much like the prescription ones Mom gives me at home and came in a snack-sized Zip-lock.  Hmm.  Anyway, I got my shot and they took blood - easy, peasy, we were in and out of there in no time!  AND what a bonus - I ran into Dr. Coffee in the Discharge area and got to get hugs from her!

Here's a shot of me out front afterwards:

IMG_9098CamVets
"Cammie!  You are SUCH a good girl!!!"
"Thanks, Mom!  And thanks to all the wonderful people at the KSU Vet Health Center!!!"

Two trips to the vet's in as many days, and such great reports both times!  We are so thankful for the wonderful, caring professionals at Kansas State University's Vet Health Center!  Now - LET'S CELEBRATE!!!

Lots To Celebrate!

Happy birthday to the US Army AND happy Flag Day!!!

"Lemme see your war face, Mags!"
"On it, Cam!"

We're pretty sure this calls for lots of treats.  Like ... maybe two hundred and forty-four of them!!!

Organizing!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  Remember the other day when I showed you the awesome new blinds in my Mom's inner Studio?  Installing those made Mom want to reorganize that room, do some rearranging, give the place a thorough cleaning -- that sort of thing.  I knew she'd need my help!

She took everything off the shelving unit she was going to move and stacked it all on the floor.  Some of it was right in front of the closet door.  Now, not only can I open the top down/bottom up kind of cordless blinds, but I can also pop open those closet doors.  There are ALL kinds of cool things in there, and I love to go exploring.  So why on Earth would she block the doors?  No problem for me though ...

IMG_9031MagsStudioCloset
"And ... I'm in!  Ho dee doh dee doh ..."

Oh, yeah. Like some small stacks of books, the trash can, and closed doors could keep me out of there!

Mom wasn't able to catch me opening the door, but she did shoot a little video of me being VERY helpful. Check it out!

To watch on YouTube, please click here.

Yep. I was hard at work! Now, if you saw Cam out there in the outer part of the Studio, you may wonder why Mom thought SHE was the helpful one! I mean - all she did was nap way out there! How is that helping? I'll never figure my mom out! Anyway, here's an "after" shot, if you're interested:

IMG_9064InnerStudio

We're still moving stuff around, but we have lots better access to the windows, which is great! And of course, to the closet!

I expect we'll do a little more organizing in there today. I'll try to get a shot of what's so fascinating in the closet for you!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

New Blinds

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  Great news - over the weekend, Mom and Dad installed new blinds in Dad's Office and the inner part of Mom's Studio.  Now, the window in the Office is too high for me to comfortably use, but I have awesome news on the back windows in the Studio!  Instead of the mini blinds that had been in there, Mom chose the cellular, top down/bottom up kind like we have on the main floor.  The cordless kind.  And you know what that means!

IMG_9007MagsStudio
"Oh, hey.  You don't mind if I open the blinds, do you, Mom?"
IMG_9008MagsStudio
"Oooh!  Look!  The neighbor is out in her garden."

It's going to be so great in there now!  I can see all kinds of people!  I mean "stuff".

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Heating Up

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  In the afternoons now, when things really heat up outside, Maggie and I like to hit the Studio more than ever!  It's nice and cool down there and Mom usually stuffs our Pickles for us:

IMG_8762CamMagsPickles

Of course, we like doing that when it's cool outside, too, but there isn't quite as much running around afterwards on the hot afternoons!

Gardening

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  Yesterday morning, we went on a nice, long family walk after breakfast, just like usual.  It was getting very hot and sticky toward the end there, so afterwards, Cam and I hung out in the air-conditioned house while Mom and Dad went outside to do yard work.  Fear not!  I checked on them from the windows from time to time!

After Mom had had enough, she came and got us girls, so we could do a supervisory check on everything.  Here we are, surveying their work from the top tier:

IMG_8989CamMagsGarden
"Dad's still working!"
"Looking good!  Don't overdo, Dad!"

Supervisors who care say things like that.

IMG_8993CamMagsGarden
"We should have brought him a water."
"How come you're done already, Mom?"
"Well, I ... uh ... we were doing different things ..."
IMG_8991CamMagsGarden
"Oh, this isn't going to go well ..."
"I'm at LEAST going to go hold the bag for him.  Maybe use the trimmers ..."
"Uh ... no, Maggie.  Supervisors don't use power tools."

He was almost done, so I didn't need to argue my case with Mom.  Anyway, Cam and I were happy to help out!  Do you help your bipeds with the gardening, too?

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

I Love A Good Hill!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  Yesterday morning on our walk, Mom had a really hard time getting a photo of Maggie and me walking together.  Yes, I know - too bad, right?  Well ... just when we thought we were in the clear, she shot this one of Mags:

IMG_8940MagsWalk
"Yeah, whatever."

... and followed it up with this one of me:

IMG_8942CamWalk
"C'mon!  We're almost at the top!"

At least she caught me doing something I love to do - take the lead walking up the hills!

IMG_8941CamWalk
"I love a good hill!  Don't you, Mom?"
IMG_8944CammieWalk
"Mom?"

I don't think she quite shares my passion for going uphill.  I decided to treat her to some nice poses once we got home to sort of make it all up to her.

IMG_8945Cammie
"How's this, Mom?"

She really liked that one and said I'd earned myself a frozen treat or two!

IMG_8947Cammie
"YAY!"

Going uphill AND some frozen treats - now that's a great way to start the day!!!

Blue Skies

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  After so much rain and so many storms, let's hear it for blue skies!

IMG_8239CamMagsDeck
"Please stop singing 'Sunshine On My Snooter'.  Please."
"Seriously, Mom.  Stop."

Have a wonderful weekend!

Nice View

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  One of my favorite views on our walks is at the top of this hill:

IMG_8842MagsCamHilltop
"Check it out, Cam!"
"Gorgeous!"

We can see forever up there! I'm pretty sure that's Colorado out there!  ... or Colbert Hills Golf Course.  One of the two!

Do you have favorite views on your walks?  Stay cool!

I'm On A Roll!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  As if my goat and c--OK, fake goat and cow spotting skills weren't enough, there we were, on a walk the other morning, when ...

IMG_8882Cam
"Hold up, everyone!  BUNNY!"

That's right - I spotted a bunny!  Way before anyone else did!  We kept approaching, quietly, and ...

IMG_8883CamBunny
"I see you, Bunny!"
"Uh oh!"

That's right - I stared it down, until it hippity-hopped away!  Maggie backed me up, of course:

IMG_8884Mags
"Awesome spotting job, Cam!"

We don't bark at things like that, but we do love to stare.  Goat, cows, bunny ... I'm on a roll lately!

Going Too Far!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  As we've been telling you, there is a lot of road construction going on in our neighborhood.  And I do mean a LOT!  Everywhere we turn, it seems like we're seeing things like this:

IMG_8911MagsCamRoadClosed
"Well, this is a fine how-do-you-do!"
"Let's go through anyway!"

We were able to go around and get to the other side of the big road, carefully picking our way through things.  That's how we got to the park yesterday to see the cows!  On the way home, though, we hit a major snag.  Check this out:

IMG_8920MagsCamSidewalkClosed
"WHAT?!?  The sidewalk, too?!?"
"This is going way too far!"

Fortunately, they haven't closed our section of the Hudson Trail yet, so we took a detour down there.

IMG_8923MagsCamTrail
"At least they haven't closed the trail!"
"Yet. They haven't closed the trail yet.  Oooh!  I see mud!"

On the plus side of things, we got a super-long walk on a relatively cool morning!  But seriously, closing the sidewalks is going too far!!!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Cows!

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie!  So ... the other day on our walk, I tried to save the world (or at least my mom) from an errant goat.

IMG_8865CamGoat
"GOAT!!!"
"Umm ... Cammie, it's not a real goat ..."

Sure.  THIS TIME it was a fake metal "yard art" goat.  But if it HAD been real, who'd be laughing now?  Exactly.

So this morning on our walk, I was in the lead.  I stopped and called out ...

IMG_8914CamCows
"COWS!"

Maggie was just about to accuse me of crying wolf (which makes me sad ... you know, wolves crying and all ... poor wolves) when ...

IMG_8913MagsCamCows
"Holy cow!  Urrr... cows!"
"Told you!"

Crying wolf, indeed!

IMG_8915MagsCamCows
"It looks like they just had a shower."
"I hope that doesn't give Mom any crazy ideas."

This IS Kansas.  Goats, cows -- you just never know!  We have to stay alert!

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Cammie!

And Stretch ...

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  I've made a great discovery recently and I just have to share it with you!  You know I love denning under Dad's kitchen chair, right?  Well, I've found that if I stretch far enough ...

IMG_8890MagsStretch
"... and hold, 2, 3, 4 ..."

... I can also lay on top of the air conditioning vent by the window. It's just perfect!!!!

Have a great weekend - and stay cool!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

Nice Surprise!

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  Earlier this week, we had a great walk!  I mean a GREAT walk!  Due to the road construction, we had to keep changing our route around, which was really fun.  Here's a look at Cam by the big road:

IMG_8790Cam
"I don't think we'll be taking a left like we usually do!"
IMG_8792MagsCam
"Guess we'll have to move on to Plan B.  Or is that C?  Hey, who's up there?"
"A lady with a Lab mix!  I don't think we know them yet."

Everyone in the neighborhoods near us is changing their routes around, too, trying to avoid all the construction. We're seeing people we don't normally see.  We're also still seeing the people and friends we know and love, though.  In fact ... guess who we ran into when we got home?!?!

IMG_8797ChelseaMaggie
"It's my BFF Chelsea!  And Chelsea's mom!!!!!!"
"Hi, Maggie!!!"
IMG_8795ChelseaMaggie
"I love you, Maggie!"
"Right back at you, Chels!"

Now THAT'S a nice surprise!  What an awesome walk that turned out to be!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

The Answer To Your Questions

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie.  A couple of you had some unspoken questions about yesterday's post.  Now, I'm not 100% certain what the questions might have been, but I have a feeling it was whether or not it was actually a "wordless" post.

IMG_8837CamStudio
"Am I right here?"

How about I share some footage of what actually took place? Ready? Let's roll it:

To play on YouTube, please click here.

I think that should answer any questions you might have.

"She has a lot of very important things to say.  It's part of being Prime Minister."

As a side note, I love having Buckingham Palace to retreat to.  Totally unrelated news, of course.

Outside Guard Duty

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie.  This morning, it actually wasn't storming after our walk, so Mom and Dad went out on the deck so Mom could cut Dad's hair.  I thought I should go with them, to stand guard and make sure they were safe!

While Mom buzzed away, I settled in and checked the AO to the west.

IMG_8858MaggieSnooterHanging
"There's some guy with a skid-steer down by the 'road work' sign.  Other than that, alles klar, Herr Kommissar."

Oh, right.

IMG_8859MagsDeck
"Sorry for the ear worm."

Not really.  Anybody else got their 80's groove on now?

Memorial Day 2019

The last Monday in May, Memorial Day, is a day to honor those who have fallen in the service of our country - our war dead. It is a day of reverence, respect, and reflection rather than one of celebration.

IMG_8830MagsCamMemorialDay

God bless our fallen service members - and may He comfort their families.
