For the Birds

Tail wags, pups and kittens, it's me, Stormy. We're a bit behind posting today because of some small 's' storms in our area. I don't care for small 's' storms, but fortunately they haven't been too severe. Even so, thunder and lightning are for the birds.

Speaking of birds, Mom learned a new "trick" in her PhotoShopElements class - using a clipping mask as a frame. She took some of her bird photos and framed them using the technique. I thought I'd share those with you.

Here's a little robin:

To get the full effect, you might want to click any of the photos to go to FlickR, then hit "all sizes" to see them larger.

Here's a little schputzie:

And here are a couple of a cardinal:

I love this one:

Oh, and just so you don't think this technique is strictly for the birds...

Me. Stormy.

All puns encouraged by Amber.
Ha roo roo roo!

I think the thunder and lightning are past us - time for a walk!

Tail wags,

  1. We were not aware your moms was taking a PS Elements class! Way cool. Your mom is great!
And so are the photos! Birds are good, very nice.....but that last fur fur pic of a very special
husky is the bestest! Can"t wait to see what develops from the classes!

  2. Very, very cool. We have to agree that the birds are great but Stormy rules

Our Dad has been trying to decide whether to buy Elements or the expensive version of Photoshop for his business (but mainly for our photos). If he could get half as good as your Mom we think Elements should work.

Your mom did a great job, we love the Cardinal!

Calvert has a fascinated with birds, he'll even sit on the bed and watch them out the window - sigh. Poor guy keeps thinking he'll catch one; silly puppy.

Our mum has recently bought Elements but to be honest hasn't had the time to play around with it.
We liked the effects your mom got -loved the birds and Stormy!
Today we just posted some landscape pics taken on holiday - well at the bottom after us dogs - only right!
However they don't post like landscape on blogger.
