"Let's go!"
Mom and I went on a search for wildflowers! Here's the first one we saw - Snow on the Mountain!
Snow on the Mountain
If only it was real snow! That will get here soon enough, though!
We saw lots of yellow wildflowers! This one had a couple of cool bugs on it:
Can you see them in there? Here are some tiny yellow wildflowers:
I have to be honest with you: I tried to eat those ones. Here's another yellow flower!
We saw some thistle, too! Here's a collage:
It always makes me think of our friends in Scotland, like Marvin, and Martha and Bailey, and all of the Dughallmor Beagles!
"Marvin? Are you in there? Martha? Bailey? Ha-looooo?!?!?"
Sadly, they weren't in there. Mom and I did both think of all of them, though!
And of course we saw the flower Kansas is famous for -- the sunflower!!!
Kansas sunflowers
For individual pix of the sunflowers and the thistle, you are welcome to visit our Kansas Scenery set on FlickR!
Here's the best sunflower shot Mom got:
Can you almost feel our warm sun and smell the fresh air?
I wish you all could have been with us! It was a glorious, sun-filled day!
Love,
Ammy

ReplyDeleteWe were there in spirit - our mum's absolute favourite flower is a sunflower and your pics are stunning.
Yes we could almost feel your sunshine and fresh air.
As could catch the breeze that was blowing the petals of the flowers...............!
If we were Marvin we would pen a poem!
love and kisses
Martha and Bailey xxx
oh thank you so much for sniffing us! I hope Martha, Bailey and the Dughallmor Beags, and me, of course, smelt beauteous!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers and your walk looked so sunny, hot and beautiful, so wish we could have walked with you dear Ammy.
We have a fower called Snow In Summer, I wonder if it is related to yours? My J used to have some, but the "hand of plant sudden death", which she has applied for the patent, came into play.
Sadly, it is no longer with us.
My J loved the yellow wild flowers, and we too, are kinda looking forward to more wintry times.
The Cairngorms, further north than us here, have had snow all year, which is a record. Great ski-ing but now another hard winter is forecast.
lotsaluv, Marvin xxxxx And thanks again for the Snow Out, ooooops, sorry the Shout OUT!! ;0D
Sunflowers are lovely, sunflowers have grace,
ReplyDeleteSunflowers always put a smile on our face.
Sunflowers are an emblem of friendship and love,
Although we have never met, our hearts are bound by friendship.......
And just simply "love".
Ok it doesn't rhyme good, but our thoughts are with you. xxxxx

Beautiful photos of one of the most beautiful places in the world! My cousin Higgins lived there as a pup and young dog back when my old human went to KSU. She recently returned there after nearly 20 years and was shocked at the change. The homes on the west end of town are amazing, according to her. You are so lucky to be living there!
ReplyDeleteSlurps,

Hmm, too many flower pix and not enough of Ammy I say. I keep warning pups about letting these flowers infiltrate our blogs. Careful Ammy.
