Serene Scenery Sunday

Ha roo, pups and cool cats, it's me, Zim!  Ready to kick back, relax, and get a dose of serenity?  How about we start by peeking around the corner at the sunset?

"I'm not in the way, am I?  Oh.  Right.  Sorry."

Mom wanted a shot of the sun coming through that Maiden Grass, like we did last month.

Look at all that goldeny goodness!!!  Doesn't it warm you right up?

Let's go around the other side of the house and see what we can find over there!

IMG_3189z Zim

Wonderfully warm sunshine.  No wonder Fluffy Black Cat has been napping down here on the rocks in the late afternoon!  They're nice and toasty!

That was my brown-eyed pose.  How about I turn the other cheek (ha roo!) and give you the blue-eyed look?

Which side do you like better?

OK - here's a look at the sunset through the Maiden Grass on another evening:

"I think I need to stop and give thanks for all my blessings..."

The sunlight does that to the lens on the iPhone.  Pretty cool, huh?  Like mid-air sunpuddles.

Speaking of the air, this guy was hanging out with us the other day when we went to the Kansas Ocean:

Our hawk friend

Isn't that beautiful?  Just circling around and around, swooping and soaring.  I think he was enjoying the day as much as Mom and I were!

Guess who else we saw at the Kansas Ocean recently?

DSCN4876e Great Blue Heron

A Great Blue Heron!  He kept trying to walk across the ice, sort of skating as he went, trying to get to a thawed part.  I think he was hoping to catch a nice fish for dinner!

Oh.  Yeah.  Dinner.  Mom made a homemade pizza this week.

It sure made her and Dad all kinds of serene.  No... no... Dave and I don't get pizza.  Or crusts.  Or any pizza parts thereof.  Sigh.  I know.  It's a sad, sad situation.  We did whip up a fresh batch of Stinky Goodness Treats that day, though, so all was not lost.

That's a wrap for Serene Scenery Sunday.  I hope these pix helped you feel a bit more --- oh.  Oh, you're still wondering how that second photo shoot of me and Dave together went?  Really?  Well, OK, since you asked.  This is probably the best one Mom got:

"Hey, Zimmie, check this out.  I think Jordan's been here!"
"Oh, yeah, that's his scent!  I hope he had a good walk!"

And ... Team Siberia 2, Mom 0.  Now THAT'S something to feel serene about!  Ha roo roo roo!

Play bows,
Zim

  3. That's really too bad about the pizza but if there were stinky goodness treats instead, I'd probably opt for those anyway. Stinky things are just so wonderful.

  4. Oh my goodness, Zimmie, that picture of you posing on the rocks is SO handsome!! I mean, even handsomer than usual. I just can't believe I get such handsome doggies as you and Dave as my Valentine's dates!! I'm dragging Momma off to look at pink dresses right now!

  5. MOM just loves the sun photo on the grass. Made her say awe. I can't decided which I like best, the brown or blue eye. Did the bird ever slip and fall on the ice? I saw that once with a goose (not me, the real deal). MOM and I even saw once a flock of geese come in for a landing on a pond that had some ice on it. It was like watching bowling pins going down. Have a beautiful Sunday. :)

  6. I was OK and feeling serene until the picture of the hawk. Momma and I were watching the squirrels play in the yard this morning and then a hawk came out of nowhere and snatched one of those squirrels for breakfast. Kind of made me afraid to be alone in the yard. You be careful out there in the wilds of Kansas.

    Kisses,
    Dexter

  13. First I have to say that you are beautiful from either side Zim. Second I can't believe that you don't get even a thumbnail sized piece of crust as a token when your parents have pizza! Don't they know it is the law that all pups must get pizza bones?
