The Complex Napping Habits of the Siberian Husky

Woo, everypup and everycat.  It's me, Dave.  We've been working really hard lately, integrating Camo into the Ao4 and showing her the ropes and all.  She and Zim took a long road march yesterday afternoon with Mom and Dad, but Zim wanted to save those pix for Serene Scenery Sunday tomorrow.  Today, then, I thought I'd show you just a few examples of our napping positions.  Keep in mind that we're members of the Working Breed Group -- do not try this at home!  Well, no.  Try it, but go slowly.  Pace yourselves.  OK - ready?

Here's me in the Sprawl All Over position:

You can see the focus on my face, can't you?  It takes a lot of concentration to get the pose right -- then you can slide into a nap.

Here's Cammie, executing a Relaxed Cinnamon Bun:

Be sure to check out her front legs - one out, one tucked.  That takes a high degree of skill!

I was going to show you one of Zim next, but I have no idea where he is!

Perfect display of the I'm Under Some Furniture So You Can't See Me position.  Well done, Zim!

Zim did team up with me for some Double Decker Synchronized Sprawl action:

And now my mom's favorite, a little thing we call The Shoulder Snuggle:

I kinda like that one, too.

Have a relaxing Saturday, everyone, and remember - if you try these positions out, go slowly.  We are highly trained Siberian Huskies and this sort of work isn't for everyone!

Luv,
Dave

  1. OK I am going to go back and study this again. I like that last postion best. But you knew that. In fact right this very moment I and in the snuggle into MOM as she helps me write this.
I can tell this will take a lot of study and practice but I am willing to put in the work.

  5. Dave, it took us a while to figure out why you included a picture of a chair leg ;-/ You all have a great repertoire of napping styles. We'll have to find some sun puddles today and try some out :)

  14. I'm impressed with the variety of napping location and positions your estate affords. Me? I kind of only ever nap on the couch or in my little labrabed next to the computer. Maybe I will try the under the chair thing. Who knows? He might be on to something.

    Kisses,
    Dexter
