Dear Cammie, Column 3 and Wordless Wednesday

Hello, everyone!  It's me, Cammie, here with another edition of Dear Cammie.  I hope you're finding my advice helpful!  Today, I'm bringing in a subject-area expert to help me field a very important question!  This one comes from our sweet friend Taffy, who wants to know:
"How can I get mom and dad to give me more treats?"
I think that's a question we can all relate to!  Zim has a lot more experience in this field than I do, so I asked him the secret to securing more treats.  He said it's two-fold.

First, you have to get your vet to buy off on it.  That can be tricky.  Zim is a tad underweight.  For those of us who aren't, I suggest standing on three legs when you get on their scale.  And hug the wall.  That takes off a pound or two right there.  With him being underweight, Mom is pretty free with the treats for him.  Zim also somehow managed to get his vet to write him a prescription for cheeseburgers (see this link).  Unfortunately, he forgot about Part B, which is to get our mom to buy into it.  I think he needs to report her to the vet; she's not following protocol!

The second part is where Zim's expertise really shines.  I'm talking about the Sad Eyes Look.  Humans cannot resist it!  Zim was not only taught by our sister Stormy to do the Sad Eyes look, but he is able to take it to the next level and do Stormy's patented Harp Seal Look!  Seriously -- check him out:

"Hi, Mom.  I sure could use a Stinky Goodness Treat!"

Study him, Taffy!  Study him and follow his brilliant lead, and hopefully you'll be rolling in the treats!  I haven't mastered the Harp Seal Look yet, but I'm being mentored by Zimmie.

And now, for my dear friend Nora, I present the Wordless Wednesday version of I'd Like A Puppy Hint #3:

  1. Excellent post as always. I'm going to work on my sad eyes all day and try it on Master when he gets home.

Have you found that your mom or dad is more likely to give you treats? Mrs. Master seems more free with them but Master seems to give larger amounts at a time. Hmm...

Oh the puppy. What a sweet sweet puppy!

  2. Great post! Pops has been throwing around the d-i-e-t word at our place, definitely not a good harbinger of treats:( take care mates,

  6. Hi Cammie,

I try the sad eyes, harp seal look often, but mom and dad are a bit stingy still.

  7. We have our peeps wrapped around our paws here so it's easy to get treats (or else they just get woke up all night long)!

PeeS: Our daddy is so happy about the Chiefs 5-0! He usually wears Chiefs shirts everywhere and even in Hawaii people made comments to him about their season so he's enjoying it after so many years of it being the other way around!

  9. Cammie, thanks so much for answering my question. I will definitely be working on Stormy's patented Harp Seal Look. She was certainly the master. I'll let you know if I get it to work. Oh, and thanks for visiting me today :0)

  11. Our Sammy was also a treat master, but Harlow and Monty are both newbies at it. Hopefully they can use Zim's guide to increase their treat intake.

  12. Oh Cammie, I am an ACE at this one! You should've asked for my help too. Do you know what works grreat? You know all those silly tricks they keep trying to teach you to do -- sit, give a paw, pose for the camera, whatever? Go up to them when they have something yummy around and spontaneously do the trick they've been trying to teach you. Strike the best camera pose ever, do the prettiest wave they've ever seen. They'll be so awed and impressed that they'll RUN for a treat! And since they didn't ASK you to do it, it doesn't break the rules about not doing tricks!
