Thoughts On Thursday

Hello, everyone, it's me, Cammie!  I thought I'd share some miscellaneous thoughts from the past couple days - and the photos to go with them.  These days, our thoughts naturally center around my puppy!  She continues to do very well; Zim and I have been working very hard to teach and mentor her!

When Mom walks just us girls together, I take a moment or two to teach Maggie good manners. She's a Prime Minister, so that's important. Here's a glimpse inside one of my lessons:

"Talk to the paw, Aunt Cammie!"
"Submit, Maggie!  NOW!"

I am firm - but gentle.  After a correction, we show each other some love:

"❤❤❤❤"
"❤❤❤❤"

She's a very good puppy!

And rather active.

After our lessons, I give Maggie quiet time in her private residence to reflect on everything I've taught her:

We have lessons inside, too.

"I have you right where I want you, Aunt CamCam!"
"Oh, my Maggie!  ❤"

I am so happy having a puppy to raise!  So is Zim!  When Maggie naps, we keep watch over her:

"I need to recharge a bit, OK?"

Mom has been doing a lot of floor mopping and washing our placemats for some reason.

"Look!  There's a puppy in the bottom of the bowl!  Must do paw-smackies with her!!!"

Oh.  Right.  Well, that could explain things a bit.  (Maggie has not had any "accidents" in the house -- she just ... how do I say this?  She really digs water.  Literally.)

We love it when all of us can go on a walk together - that's the BEST! I've been teaching Maggie to walk properly on a leash. She also is learning patience if Mom and Dad stop to talk to neighbors or if Zim or I need to tend to our business.

"I wonder if there's anything interesting in the M's yard today?"
"Like this, CamCam?"
"Good girl, Maggie!  Take your time, Zimmie; she must learn patience!"

She's really quite the quick study! Mom says the three of us are becoming quite the team already!

"I'm all napped up; can I come out now?"
"Maybe the Sad Eyes Look will work, you guys!"
"Aw, c'mon, Mom!  Let the littlest crazed river otter out!!!"

Seriously.  Who could say "no" to the three of us?

Zim is mentoring the little one, too, of course!

IMG_1245MagZim
"My ZIMMIE!  ZIMMIE!  ZIMMIE!!!"
"You're a good kid, Mag-a-roo!"

She simply adores her Zimmie.  Our Zimmie.

Maggie and I like surveying the neighborhood from our driveway.

IMG_1235MagCam
"Nothing going on toward the east, Aunt Cammie!"
"All quiet on the western front, Maggie.  So to speak.  Ha roowooroo!"

IMG_1236MagCam
"North, Aunt Cammie!  To the north!"
"Oh, yes, Maggie!  Yes!  I smell a cold front!"

And in the evenings, as we unwind for the day, Zim and I work jointly on teaching her our Crazed River Otter game.

"Like THIS?!?"
"The kid's got my ninja summersault move down already!!!"
"Great Dane in the morning!"

We couldn't be happier - or prouder of our puppy!  She's come so far in such a short period of time!

Cammie!

  12. You two seem to be doing a great job with Madame Prime Minister! Although I have to tell ya, with all these puppy pictures, Mom has been looking at OUR puppy pics and she keeps saying "Oh, Fi! Oh, Abby! You were so cute!" As if we are chopped liver now... (Although chopped liver sounds pretty good.... Hmmm... Maybe time for an after-dinner snack! Heehee!)

  17. When I was just a wee pup we had one of those big water bubblers with a giant tank of water on top to keep the bowl full. I loved digging and splashing in that until the entire contents were all over the kitchen floor. Then I would knock over the empty jug and chase it around. What fun! For some reason, momma retired that water cooler to the basement.
