Park Walk

Greetings to all!  It's me, Maggie!  The other morning, Cam and I took Mom on a bit of a longer-thank normal walk.  We saw all kinds of interesting things (like the sign about the parade Cam showed you); I thought I'd share more of that with you!

The walk started out pretty much like normal -

"I wonder which way we'll go?"
"I hope we go left!!!"

At that top of that hill, we can see two entrances to the Hudson Trail. If we go right, it's our "normal" route. If we go left, it's a longer walk. We were hoping we'd go left -- but we didn't. We didn't go right, either - we went straight! We hardly ever go straight -- wow, was that exciting!

We walked through a neighborhood for quite a while, then came out on a main street with apartments on it.

Cam and me!

The cars moved faster in that area. We moved faster, too, due to ...

Very large Mountain Dogs of some variety, in need of a taller fence

They barked at us. A. Lot. We did our best to ignore them, but they got us a bit excited. Mom hustled us past them as best she could. (She was thankful for the walking belt system we now use. Really thankful!)  She didn't take that picture until we were on the other side of the street!

Once over there, we were officially at CiCo Park.  We hadn't been there for a while, so it was just wonderful!  We saw a sign for a Farmers Market!

"Wait.  Are those dogs still barking at us?"
"Yes.  We should get going!"

We made a quick mental note to try to come back for the market.  It would be awesome to buy a farmer or two.  He or she could be a lot of help with the gardens.

We turned down the road into the park, and as we did, Cam and I made this macramé design for Mom:

"Oh, wait.  Over, under..."
"Twist and across..."

Isn't it lovely?  We worked hard on it.

That road had just recently been re-paved.  We were probably the first Siberians to walk on it!  One of the lower roads was re-done, too, so we walked down there next!

"Hey!  I hear a bunch of stuff going on!"
"I think it's coming from the field on the other side of the hall."

As Siberians, we are ALWAYS curious about things and love to investigate.  Mom said we could go check it out!

Cam was right - the sounds were coming from one of the big fields.  It was something called "football practice"!

"They should give me the ball; I could show them some really cool moves!"
"Yep.  We could show them a thing or two about running, too!"

Mom didn't let us go join them, but it was fun enough staring at them for a while.

What a great walk! I hope you had fun coming with us!

Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher

  5. That was a great walk and you got to see such cool stuff. I bet those dogs were jellies of you both looking so pawsome strutting along. Did you get a Farmer?? Mommy goes to one of those but I don't get to go with her. She hasn't brought back any Farmers but she does bring some yummy foodables and pretty flowers.

  8. Hi Y’all!

I did have lots of fun coming with you, but being a retriever, I'd of had to break away and catch that football! 'Course I probably would have brought it right back to the guy who threw it.

    I’ve relocated to www.browndogcbr.net. There is a link on http://browndogcbr.blogspot.com .
Hope y’all come to my new home. I’m still workin’ on it. You need to click the title to find a spot to comment.

    Y’all hurry on by now!

  12. Oh wow, that was a MOST exciting walk! It's a shame your momma didn't let you teach those football players a few lessons. They probably would've appreciated advice from EXPERTS.
