Fun With a Friend

Woo everypuppy and everycat. It's me, Dave. Mom's been tricking me lately when we're out in the yard playing. Instead of doing the Tuggy-Tug Game between rounds of Fetch, she sneaks two of my toys out there and entices me with one so I drop the other. I can't help it - I fall for it every time.

"Mom... do you have my Squeaky Husky Friend behind your back?
OK... here's my Squeaky Tennis Ball..."

That's pretty much how it goes until I get really, really to where I've had a ton of fun, then Mom lets me have both toys.

"I'm just hanging out with my squeaky friends!"

That's the
husky toy Mochi gave me. It's currently my very favorite toy and I won't let anything bad happen to him. Except for some dampness and pollen and grass stains. Woo.

"Did you want to say something, Squeaky Husky Friend?"

Here... let me help you...

DSCN4839 Dave
"Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!"

I love it when he says that!

I hope you all get to do something fun today!

Luv,
Dave

  1. Golly, Dave, I didn't peg you as falling for such a dumb trick like that. Next thing you'll tell me you go for the toss fake too.

Well, at least you wound up with both toys in the end.

  2. Dave! Dude! My momma does that trick on me EVERYDAY and I fall for it EVERYDAY!

She will bring out 2 balls and throw one, let me bring it back and drop it because now obviously I have seen ball # 2 then she will throw that one and pick up the one I dropped. Sheesh....and she says I NEED to exercise because I'M LAZY! Pffft....

  5. Laughing - you are such a LabraDave! We love you, but you do fall for the two toy trick. You do that with Natasha, and she runs to hide the first one, and then returns expecting the second. Now THAT is Sibe behavior.

  6. Glad you are having a good day, Dave! Mom is sneaky, but it DID make for some interesting fun, yeah? Mom tries to get me excited about toys other than the kong, but it's furry hard - really it is. But Mom tries hahaa!!!

  7. I know the feeling Dave! Mom does that to me sometimes. She fakes throwing something and I go running after the toy that isn't there...the toys are still behind her back! Love your new toy...bet it sounds cool! Have a great day! Lots of love, Holly and mom

  9. Your mom is so good. It's nice when moms just trade us for stuff instead of taking the stuff away.

PS. I love the tongue-out-the-side move!

  10. Your mom is very sneaky keeping a toy behind her back but at least she finally lets you have both after you've really, really had a ton of fun! You are such a handsome boy Dave!

  11. Ha ha, your mom is tricky! :) I'm usually not into the fetch thing, so I don't think it will work on me, but that's not going to stop mom from trying! My husky head looks a lot like yours, minus the pollen.

    Gorgeous pictures as usual! :)

  12. Dear Dave

As I am now fully qualified as a Dr, or should I bark, V.E.T...........I can diagnose your medical condition.

    And here is my diagnosis.........

"You are a total Labrador" In fact you are totally Labradorable from the symptoms being shown in the photos on here.

I prescribe lots of Fetch, lots of Tuggy Tug, and if you are feeling particularly Labrador without the Collie mix, (ahem like me!) you don't do the Retreiver scenario.

I may like my toys, but I certainly don't bring the darn things back when they are thrown away from me.

If the humans are throwing them away, well, they obviously don't want 'em!

Sorry I have been missing - my J pressed a wrong key on the computer and we went into orbit for a while.

    love and many labradorable licks,

    Marvin xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  14. Hi Dave,

We think there is a method to your madness. You get to humor your HuMom, play with the alternating toys so you are always on the move and in the end you get both toys anyway.

    Good Job

Oh man... Loki and Juno sure love it when their toys "speak" i mean, "squeak" too! and that's a great method of getting the toys back w/o a tug. tho tug is fun too! you can also do a tiny piece of food but the double toy game is fun too!

  23. Dave, you look good in green grass. Your mom takes fantastic pictures. Is there anything better than a squeaky toy? I think not. I am sad you didn't win the onion chopper. I hope to be able to give away more in the future. Thanks for always playing along. You always make my day.I think you are right about Africa training me for children.
