Remember once before I showed you some hailstones? Well, OK, that was an April Fool's Day joke, but this time Mom went out and nabbed one so we could show you how big they were. Check this out!
The bipeds on the radio said we had "softball" sized hail, but we didn't see any that big. Later reports were that they were the size of baseballs on our side of town; the ones we saw were more like ping pong balls or so.
Mom went upstairs and shot this video while the rest of us were downstairs. She was in the screened-in part of the deck, with the door open.
Once that was past us, we had a little clearing, then another cell rolled in. Check this out - you can see the storm on the horizon!
It was as dark as nighttime out there! Here's a short video of that storm cell approaching!
We had more storms over night, but nowhere near as severe. Today will hopefully be calmer!
This has been your Ao4 Meteorolgist, Amber, with your Weather Moment!

Ammy,
ReplyDeleteWe're happy to hear that you are safe but we are concerned about you letting your Mom go upstairs. If the ice cubes attacked her, who would give you your treats?
Keep her safe,
Princess Eva

Wow, that's sscary! There apparently were huge hailstones a little further north and east in the province, but in summer, our storms never send off emergency sirens! How scary!
