Dave, Guide Dog for the Color Blind, working in Mom's Studio |
Some of you might be wondering what I do to keep myself busy while Dave's working in the Studio. Well, fear not! I'm hard at work, too! Oh, I don't do color stuff - I'm on Guard Duty!
I like to position myself on the stair landing, so I can deal with any intruders who might try to use the steps. No one gets in or out of the downstairs without going past me! Mom shot this pic of me the other day with her iPhone. You can see what an exhausting job I have!
"Zzzzz...." |
Well, OK... I might have been taking a break at that point... but only because I had been working really, really hard! (Or maybe because Mom takes us for a long walk before she goes down to the Studio... I'm not sure.)
Here's a look from another day:
SGT Zim on Guard Duty |
I was so hard at work that Mom commemorated my act in a special effects photo. It's a tricky maneuver I'm performing; how about another view?
I'm a professional; do not try this at home!
As you can see, Dave and I work equally hard while Mom's in the Studio! He's got her color choices covered, while I stand guard!
Play bows,
Zim
Zim, I hope your mom appreciate the good work you do. When my mom does her sewing, sometimes Wilbur intrudes and he likes to lay on Mom's lap, or lay on the fabric that Mom wants to sew or lay right behind the sewing machine. You get the idea, he's basically in the way. Maybe you should hire yourself out to other Mom's in need. My mom might be willing to pay you some super smelly treats in exchange for you to keep Wilbur out!

And THAT'S why the Sibes are called "working dogs!" I have no more to woo about that!

Hi Zim & Dave,
ReplyDeleteI am feeling really, really awful - I only just now realised that you lose Ammy and Stormy!!!!!!! I'm so so sorry! I feel like a terrible friend! I don't know how I missed that! We've been going through a really busy time in the last couple of months and I haven't been able to visit my friends as much as usual and had to do the "Mark All As Read" on Google Reader a few times - so I must have totally missed those posts!! Aaaarrgghhh! I'm so sorry! You must have thought I was the most cold, unfeeling doggie when I didn't come over to leave any words of support! I hope you can forgive me.
Anyway, I'm grovelling over now to say I'm really, really sorry and I shall miss them terribly but I can see from your recent posts that you're continuing their great legacy! I hope your humans are doing OK - I know you'll both be helping them lots.
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
Guarding is a very important job, Zim! Your photos look like paintings!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
You're working too hard, Zimmie! I mean, do you get insurance, breaks, snacks provided on the job? Are you a member of the union? Do you get holidays and sick leave? These are all important questions.

You guys really know what service means, don't you? Like my Stella, who acts as my ears in the house, barks at door, and at phone, lets me know whatever is going on.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are all noble critters and I am proud to know you.
Kisses,
Jo
You two boys are such hard workers! Zim, we think you should get compensated for the extra effort you had to put in to move positions too. That's exhausting!
ReplyDeleteHi Zim! I couldnt agree with you more! That is hardwork!! Hope you get paid for all that labor!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Maxx
Wow!
ReplyDeleteYou two really work very hard!
Not easy, right?
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Hi Zim! Yes! Can definitely understand the difficulties of these duties. Bravo, very well performed!
ReplyDeleteIn response to your comments to my post....unfortunately, the Avalon birthday fiesta was a bit of a last minute arrangement, and I did not have a chance to enchant her with a gift. Sigh. Must say, we LOVED the hats (did not eat them)...and my mom loved them too (she had much trouble giving hers up :)) Have a great week.
Love hearing from you!
Sweet hugs,
Sierra Rose
Hi Zim & Dave,
ReplyDeleteI do guard duty here and I agree...it is really hard work! Good thing we are working dogs! Your mom is lucky to have both of you to help her and protect her. AND she takes you on wonderful walks so you can have grreat adventures to share with us! Wooo HOOOO!
Good job guys!
Skye
You two are such incredibly hard workers. You are examples for the breed.
ReplyDeleteYou do have a very important job Zim, both you and Dave are very good helping your mum like you do.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are an important team - helping your Mom like that!
ReplyDeleteUm, but aren't you afraid you will fall down the stairs?
