When Mom and I got there the other day, we did some looking around at first:
She always does a safety check and looks for eagles. I always look for
We headed down the hill to get closer to the water:
The sky was just a picture postcard perfect blue that day!
We got a bit closer to the water and had a look around:
We didn't see any eagles (sorry, Mom) but I did see these guys:
If I'm not mistaken, they are American Coots. They were adults, but not what I would call "old" coots. Ha roo roo roo! Moving right along ...
For those who have asked - I am a Siberian Husky, and as such I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in going into the water. Besides, you really can't get to it here - those big boulders prevent you from getting close to it. And it's not safe to swim close to the dam.
Anyway, we walked down near the water for a bit, then headed back up the hill:
I sure had a relaxing, enjoyable time at the lake. It made me feel all ... well, like this:
Don't judge me too harshly for looking at the camera and smiling - I had such a wonderful adventure, I just couldn't help myself. Besides ... Mom brought treats with us.
Thanks to everyone for helping me decide which pose was best yesterday, by the way! The general consensus was that Pose 1 was the better, but both had ample votes!
Remember to keep it serene, friends!
Play bows,
Zim
We love your Turtle Creek adventures Zim. Ok, we'll agree pose #1 was the best even though we liked both

I have truly loved this ZIMventure. I wish you had seen Iggles though. THEY are sooooo cool.
ReplyDeleteMummy is looking longingly at that wonderful blue sky with little white puffy clouds. What a wonderful place Turtle Creek looks. How nice for a lovely walk. Its been grey and raining all day today so me and Simba have stayed in the warm :)xx
ReplyDeleteDo you ever see turtles there? I have enjoyed going on your adventure with you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,

hi Dave and Zim,
ReplyDeleteSorry – catching up again! My human is having a really busy time lately and we are so behind with our blog friends. Anyway, it was great to catch up on your posts and I agree with everybody else's choice of pose! :-) love the pictures on this post – especially the ones where you could see out across the water – what a wonderful sense of space! :-)
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
Bummer that you didn't get to see eagles but it was a wonderful time just the same.
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch
i missed yesterdays post so I went back and took a look. I am one of the ones that likes the second pose best. You look either dreamy or loopy, I can't decide but I like it best.
ReplyDeleteTurtle Creek looks like the most amazing place. I love all your pictures from the last few posts on it.

Ok...I need to confess that *sometimes* I like going in the water. I have this silly baby pool and as long as no one is looking, I lay down in it. However, I make sure to get up and act like I hate it as soon as the humans start fussing about it.

Maybe you can take your dad's car next time and see some eagles! It still looks like you had a great time and it made us smile too!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventurous walk!! Thanks for taking us along Zim!! I've never seen eagles before...That water does look tempting to jump right in!
ReplyDeleteMom says she just loves your smile and cant get enough of it!!
Cheers,
Maxx
Zim, the picture of you heading down the hill, the blue sky and clouds and blue ocean - beautiful! You made us feel how you look in the last picture :)

Wow, that looks like so much fun! Next time I want to come with you, okay?
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice day and a great way to spend Sunday. Zim, please tell Myshka and Sasha that they are not supposed to like the water? Myshka just likes to here ankles wet and Sasha likes everything wet!
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed the photos!
