Tornado Sirens

Ha roo, pups! It's me - Zim! Yesterday we had quite a bit of excitement throughout the afternoon, evening and night! Lots of severe storms in our area - rain, more rain, torrential rain, thunder, lightning, 70-80 mile an hour winds, etc.. Mom saw some cool mammatus clouds form up ... then we went from a tornado watch to a warning. Our city's emergency warning sirens went off a paw-ful of times throughout the evening.

During one of the warning periods, Mom went out on the deck; she shot a short video to show you what it was like. She went out during one of the calm times - we went from high, high winds to ... pretty much nothing. Mom and Dad were tracking the small 's' storms on radar, so she had a fairly good idea where the really bad stuff was and wasn't taking a huge risk. It's dark out there, should be daylight, plus everything was rain-wrapped, so it was hard even for the trained storm spotters to see anything!

Like I said, it was a calm period, so it doesn't look like much, but we thought we'd share it with you anyway.

You might be wondering how we coped with everything. All things considered, we did very well. I knew it was going to be a long night, and that I'd need to keep my energy up. Here I am during another siren blast.

That's right - helping Dad with his cappuccino! Ha roo! Oh, sure, all I got was a little foam, but it was enough to charge me right back up! I needed to stay alert!

Play bows and safe wishes for everypup!
Zim

  4. Zim,

You are so brave to sip your cappuccino while the world around you blows away!

I am going to hide for the afternoon! Storms (big or small s) make me very nervous.

So glad the AO4 was spared any physical damage. We have a pup running around who looks a little like a storm!

  10. Hi Zim
You have some strange weather over there.
I am just crossing my paws that there are no problems for you all.

Oh and I think the cat box should have been eaten and the Siberian Night drunken.

Hmmm Is that what I meant to bark?

Purrr S: Mum and I had coffee in bed this morning... I'm not saying I took Meeshka's advice but there might have been a black fur in her cup at the end.

  16. Hey Zim,

Good job keeping watch but you need to do a better job of keeping your mom off of the deck!

  18. Cappuccino Foam - I wish I could have been there - I beg and beg so my Mom gives me the whipping cream on the top of her Mocha- Sometimes I even get a lick when she's not looking.
We have been having horrible storms too - I'm so glad I get to sleep with in Mom's bed with her to keep her safe.

  22. It's a good thing Dad was prepared with that cappuccino foam. No telling how you would have gotten through the night without that! Keeping an eye on Mom out on the deck has to be exhausting!

  23. So it looks like when the tornado sirens go off, instead of heading to the basement, you should sit back and sip a cappuccino!
