We do the garage thing too, but Mom makes us wait at the stairs until the door is up -something about the spring snapping and hitting us or the door falling down on us - such a worrywart she is. But when we come home, we pull her inside fast so we can all get a big drink. Sometimes she almost smashes her head on the door because we are so eager.
