Ha roo, pups and kit-cats! It's me, Zim! I took Mom out back yesterday, in between the rain storms, to have a look around. Like my bestest friend Huffle Mawson, Explorer Cat and Honorary Husky, I love to explore things. (Is anypup or kitty missing Huffs as much as I am?) I saw some signs of Spring and thought I'd share them with you.
As we went down the stairs on the deck, I had to stop on the landing to survey everything.
Ha rooooooo!?!?
This guy answered me back, can you see him?
We saw this one kind of sedum that gets pink flowers that look like broccoli. A bunch of them are starting to green up! Oswald and the birds love to munch on those.
I forget exactly what variety of sedum they are. Other than the pink kind that look like broccoli.
Speaking of Oswald, I looked around for him.
I thought I saw him and was going to leap off the retaining wall to go say ha roo.
Mom and the leash she had me on said, "Oh, no you aren't." It's like ... it's like she doesn't quite trust me or something. Can you believe that?
Anyroo, we also saw this other kind of sedum springing up:
They're Purple Emperor Sedum; they are a purply-red color and get blooms the same color.
They're Purple Emperor Sedum; they are a purply-red color and get blooms the same color.
That's about all I have to report for today. I'll show you more of our garden as things progress!
Play bows,
Zim
What beautiful signs of Spring. Thank you for sharing. =)
ReplyDeleteNice to see Mom is not the only one who is obsessed with gardens and plants! I try not to dig too many up.

We're looking for signs of spring too but Momma says not to get our hopes up.
ReplyDeletePrincess Eva
Zim, now its my turn to be a little envious. Here we are in the middle of a snowstorm and you are looking at new beautiful flowers!
ReplyDeleteOur day will come, I am sure, but right now I want more spring and less snow!
Kisses,
Stella
Yes, we miss Huffle too.
ReplyDeleteNo signs of spring here yet, as we told Khyra this morning. We are supposed to get that dreaded wintry mix (totally useless stuff, unlike SNOW), so we are planning an S-RV escape. More to come.
oh lovely jubbley!
ReplyDeleteI have to bark here though, I think I "sedum" before you did, Zim!!
Sorry, I could not resist that one.
You have such purty birdies over your way, such lovely bright colours.
Your garden is looking pretty, we always enjoy your gardening blog posts.
We still have Oswalds distant relatives here in the garden, there were two last week, there seem to be a few more this week.
I have no idea where they are all coming from..........

Thank you for sharing the pics of the sedum! Our weather is pretty much the same year round so we don't get to see all the seasons change as much as you guys do.
ReplyDeleteI tried to help my mom with some gardening the other day, but I got in trouble for it. Oops!
Mochi
What great discoveries of things "Spring!" I don't even know the word, sedum! But now I know what it looks like!
ReplyDeleteLove and Licks,
xo Sammie
They look sort of like lettuce. Yummy!
ReplyDeleteSteve
Lettuce - we love lettuce - but we thought they looked like brussel sprouts. We are starting to see green grass and those hyacinths are still trying to survive despite the pounding of snow they got just after poking their heads through the mulch.
ReplyDeleteAll our flowers get planted in the front yard where we pups can't get at them, we do enough nibbling on the shrubs in the back. Mom keeps threatening to make us go on leash like woo guys but we don't think she has time to do all that - he he he.
Keep the flowers and spring things coming - we love them.

Is this GMTA Tuesday?

Thanks for sharing those springy signs Zim. As much as we love winter I think we're ready for spring now. In fact - I fluffed some of Mom's potting soil for her today. She didn't seem as if she appreciated it but I'm thinking once she realizes how much love went into it she'll change her mind.

I don't like this whole new spring thing. Kelly is really happy because it is getting hot, 85 today. I am with John. He likes the winter more. Something about having to mow the **** grass. I was told to wear ear muffs when he said the astricks part. Guess I am too young to hear those words. Anyways, it's hot and I don't like it. Although, I am kinda like Ozwald and like to munch on all the green stuff popping up.

ReplyDeleteI casnot believe your mum did not trust you to be on the ledge there!

Hmmm, we Beagles like a spot of gardening you know.
ReplyDelete(Mum: do you mean digging holes?)
We like to plant pretty things (Mum: err, do you mean eat all my bulbs??)
We have a wonderful garden with lots of lovely flowers
(Mum: we have a muddy mess with one lonely looking daffodil, which is OUTSIDE the gate!)
Sighs all round! Thanks for the Spring-watch tour of your garden, lovely!
Slobbers xx
Oh, my dog. You have things GROWING there? Things other than icicles? Things that are green?!?! When can we come visit?
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing us the signs of spring in Kansas! I enjoyed the tour!
ReplyDeleteLooks like spring is springing over there for sure! Glad you got to do some exploring!
ReplyDeletefurry nice pictures! Don't woo love spring?
ReplyDeleteWe noticed the retaining leash while woo walk on the retaining wall... is that really necessary? Will your human wander off if woo don't keep her on the other end of the leash?
Woos & a-roos,
Star & Jack a-roo
Spring sure looks nice on your side Zim

-Kira the color changing Husky!
We enjoyed seeing your first signs of Spring and look forward to seeing your garden as it grows into summer.
ReplyDeleteOur mum so loves flowers - we are helping in the garden at present.
Bailey is ripping up the grass with her claws and I am trampling every little flower underfoot.
Well I was never known for being dainty!

We have some sedum coming up too! Can't wait for more signs of spring! :)
ReplyDeleteHow pretty your sedum is! Mom can't WAIT for flowers to start blooming around here!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
