Pickle Nose

Pickle nose. Readers of my Haik-woo know that I'm said to have a "pickle nose". Tubey suggested I let everyone know how that phrase came to be! Tubey's pretty smart. He's no Stormy (who among us could be that smart?!?) ..... but he has some really good ideas.

For me, it all started with Harley, a fellow Sibe in Pennsylvania. When his mom saw a picture of me, she thought I could be Harley's twin -- right down to my "pickle nose"! Huh?

Harley (pictured at right) told me, "Pickle Nose comes from a "Digital Underground" song called "The Humpty Dance". There is a line in the song that goes, "My nose is big! Big like a pickle!" ... Mom sang that to me when I was a puppy because my nose was soooo big and was covered in all of my pickle nose spots...it just sort of stuck...even after some of my spots faded." Since Harley and I are twin sons of different mothers, we're both called "Pickle Nose" now. :)

For the record, I've never heard that "Digital Underground" group; I have some rather specific musical preferences! I love jazz... like the old standards or Matt Bianco or maybe Basia when she woos in Polish. I also LOVE old Sergio Mendes and the Brazil '66, especially "Mas Que Nada". Mom and I pretend we can woo in Portuguese and woo with them. AND, last but not least, I love the bagpipes and Celtic fusion.

But back to being a pickle nose.... mom doesn't think my nose is big or anything, she just loves the freckles and think they look like bumps on a pickle. :) I always get smoochies on them. Me and my freckles are pictured at left. Who can resist my pickle nose? Wooooo!

Luv, Dave
