As the boys said, they had a lovely time at the Kansas Ocean the other evening. Zim thought the sights and sounds in this video might soothe you!
Here are both of my brothers walking around by the ocean:
Shore birds!
Oh.... I know what you're thinking. They look remarkably like Mourning Doves... but ... umm ... this is the Kansas Ocean. We'll take any shore birds we can get. Zim said he wasn't sure where his goose friends were!
See the limestone chunks along the shore line? This part of Kansas is known for limestone! We have it on the outside of Ao4 Headquarters and our retaining walls are made from big pieces of it! Here is a chunk out in its natural environment:
Isn't it pretty? Those are all the serene scenery type pix the boys helped Mom take. They'll wrap up that adventure tomorrow with some iPhone photos. I wonder if there's anything else serene around here?
Me. Ammy. Looking for serene stuff.
Mom got a big, pretty basket of flowers from her mom - and they made her feel really happy! Here are her two favorite photos of them:
White, frothy stuff in front of red carnations and roses
And you know, as the Ao4's meteorologist ...

... I can't let a Serene Scenery Sunday post go by without a sky shot!

It sure is pretty there and wow there must be a ton of frogs to make all that noise. Would love to hear the big bull frog.

Very serene and lovely photos of you and the flowers Ammy! But the frogs and bugs at the Kansas Ocean with Zim and Dave were so loud we couldn't hear the ocean waves!

Wow guys your mom's photos look even better on moms new iPad! She loves the flowers but she does not like frogs!
ReplyDeleteAmmie...those are some awesome pictures and movies...we are feeling so very serene now, thanks!!

Dory, Jacob and Bilbo
Ammy, very serene! You are so lucky to live near the Kansas Ocean. I'm sure that was a shorebird...no doubt. Mom loves the beautiful flowers!! Lots of love, Holly and mom
ReplyDeleteBeawootiful sunset, Ammy! I don't know, but just between wooo & me, the "Kansas Ocean" looks an awful lot like a big pond. Salt-water oceans don't have froggies and stuff, and our shore birds are real shorebirds. Just sayin... but of course it doesn't hurt to name it the Kansas Ocean, if it makes the boyz happy! It looks like a beawootiful spot to explore!

A serene Meteorologist!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! And darn those noisy froglets!!!! Imagine trying to snooze with that racket!
What awesome pictures! We thought we heard the Kansas Ocean surf in that first video. Mom said it was a car passing by but we insist it was the waves!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots
