My Meeting with Calico!

Tail wags, dear friends. It's me, Stormy, today! I hope all of you enjoyed seeing and hearing about Zim and Ammy's adventure at the park! Dave and I found plenty of wonderful things to do this past week, too. In fact, one day, when I was out walking Mom, who did I see but Zim's friend the Calico Cat!

Calico is still pretty shy around us, but I thought I'd see what I could do to win her over. I moved toward her very slowly. Here is a collage of my approach:

Isn't she a lovely kitty? I didn't want to push things with her, so I looked to the side a lot (kitties and pups alike appreciate that sort of approach - it's not as scary!) and kept things at a calm, peaceful pace. I stopped about 2 feet away from her, then just gave her gentle, slow tail wags. Here's a very short video:

That's as much as we did that day - I didn't want to try for too much too soon. Next time I see her, I'll try to get a little closer. I'll keep you posted on my progress!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Tail wags,
Storms

  1. You will win her over one day. Keep up with just a little bit at a time. Then she will be wrapped around your paw. She's pretty. Have a great weekend.

  10. Go very slow Stormy. We haven't learned that approach yet. Hey if they run you have to chase them right?
Mom and Dad are trying to get us to get along with our 2 cats. Well there is lots of tearing around so not much progress yet...

  16. Phew! My J said she had the goose bumps watching you there dear Stormy! I have no idea why goose should have bumps, nor why my J should have them - humans are a race apart me thinks from us intelligent beings. According to her, it is something to do with a BAD experience with C.A.T.s. Nothing to do with me, I hope.

Moving on, I wondered which of your excellent brothers and sisters, you looked at while you weren't pushing things?

I mean, you wrote "you looked to the Sibe a lot?" well which one? and why did't we get a pic of Zim, Amber or darling Dave?

I leave you with my learnedless, or should I bark, learnedness.....
