The first one is out back, down at the bottom of the yard.
There are eleventy-seven steps to the yard and then the hill to deal with; I'll wait here while Mom goes down to take a pic.
Here it is:
Here it is:
Pampas Grass |
Yep. The Pampas Grass down at the bottom of the yard is starting to plume out! It didn't do too much of that last year, but this grass seems to be one of the few things in the garden that's happy with the drought and severe (hot, hot, hot) temperatures.
Speaking of hot temperatures - that's the second of our serene changes! We've had a couple days that did not get over 100℉! That's been mighty nice! It was so nice out one evening, that I got to go on the deck to enjoy the sunset. (Since our deck faces west, it's been WAY too hot for any of us out there in the afternoon!)
The sunset was beautiful that night! Check it out:

"Isn't that beautiful?!!?" |
It was wonderful to be out there together.
Me! (And Mom!) |
It doesn't get much more serene than that! I hope you have a beautiful day!
Luv,
Dave
We are so waiting for a break in temperatures!
ReplyDeleteWe used to see pampas grass all over when we lived in California, I hadn't even remembered it until I saw your picture!
Sam
We're glad you were able to get some deck time again! It's heating up here this week (90 is hot to us) so we'll be waiting for window whiffs again. Your mom's grass is growing really good! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Mom's garden always looks so nice. Our mom is good at growing the grass from the yard in her flower beds.
ReplyDeleteReally nice sunset! We hope the temperatures stay down low enough for you to be outside more. We go outside for a little bit and then have to come in and soak up the air conditioning. It is still 100 degrees around here when Mom gets home from work!

We've had the door open the last two mornings to come in and out as we please. LOVE IT!

That grass is very cool. And I am glad you got to have a few days of less than 100. I hope you more days ahead of you than are cooler.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Your sunset is just magnificent! We hope you're having a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
What a pretty sunset. It has been pretty hot over here too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI am just waiting for the warm weather to arrive here! It's been extra very cold this winter.

They might not be colorful flowers, but there is something magical about the seed plumes of ornamental grasses that I love too. Thanks for sharing your serenity. You know I need more of it right now.

Isn't funny how a little cool off of 5 degrees can make us so so happy these days. Our weather has been down about 8 degrees and it feels like heaven.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful sunset pictures. You took look especially good in sunset light.
Bert
It sure is a beautiful sunset

It's been so hot, glad you got out to see that beautiful sunset. Good thing the Pampas grass likes the drought, it's pretty.
ReplyDeleteThe silvers and more
Dave and Zim, I am glad you got at least some relief and got to watch the sunset. I hope you have more days like that real soon, so you can go out and smell the pampas grass.
