"I can't wait to see what's out there!" |
It's like the surprise behind Door Number One on that Let's Make a Deal show. Is that even still on? Anyway ... as soon as we get out there, we look all around:
"Nothing going on to the south..." "Nothing to the north..." |
Then we checked the cul-de-sac, straight ahead to the east:
"BINGO!" "I thought his name was Barkley..." |
It was our neighbor pup Barkley! He was up there doing some training with his biped.
"Good job, Barkley!" "For such a young guy, he's pretty smart!" |
From what we saw, every time Barkley barks at something -- us, in this case -- his biped gives him a treat. That's pretty cool. I wonder how he came up with that one? Very clever.
Can you see the house that was burned on the 4th of July? They're tearing it down now. Here are some close-ups of the work going on up there:
Tearing it down and building it back up. It's our hope that our city or at least our neighbors will understand the danger involved with fireworks - and will exercise more common sense in the future. Woo.
That's what was behind Door Number One this morning. There are more surprises to come all day long!
Luv,
Dave
Ooh, how exciting! The only time I go into the garage is if we're getting in the car to go somewhere. We leave for walks and stuff out the front door.
ReplyDeleteI've got to figure out Barkley's secret. If WE start barking on our walks, Momma keeps hissing at us to "hush!"
How exciting!
ReplyDeleteBOL - Barkley has his Dad trained right!
Sam
There is always an adventure for you boys to explore when door number one opens up.
ReplyDeleteCindy
you guys have the best adventures!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a detached garage, so I just leave out the back door each time. But it is always a guess what will be waiting for me out there. MOM has gotten in the habit of checking first, something about a stinky skunk. Treats for barking??? That is one well trained human.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
I can't wait to see what is behind door number two. Is there a door number 2
ReplyDeleteFun! We go out the front door too...and are usually focused on ourselves and nothing else hehe!
ReplyDeleteOh Cod!! that burnt house was because of fireworks??? Will the peeps never learn! Fireworks are just a very, very bad idea...just my opinion...paw pats, Savannah
ReplyDeleteI REMEMBER VERY WELL the 4th. of July Fire and all the Damage done by SILLY PEEPS.
ReplyDeleteGUESS WHAT... I have a pretend Furend that I named BARKley. He is VERY QUIET though.
I like what YOUR Barkley has taught his peep to do. Good Trick.
Barkley is one smart pup! Every night at 4am my sisfur Angel meows and wakes up Mommy and she gets a treat. Bipeds can be so easy to train sometimes! We hope your neighbors rebuilding goes smoothly!
ReplyDeleteThat is more exciting than what is out my door!
ReplyDeleteHuffs
So Barkley is behind door #1?
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Wait...so he barks and gets a treat? Hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteNora
Sure it is exciting to see those things when the door opens!
ReplyDeleteYour doggie neighbor and the house being built again!
Take care
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
We're happy to see that they're rebuilding. It's a shame that it had to happen in the first place. Stoopid fireworks!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Are you sure it was fireworks that caused the fire, or was their mom cooking hot dogs???
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice calm street to walk on thats for sure!!!
