Ha roo, pups. It's me - Zim. Stormy held an Ao4 Digest staff meeting last night. We discussed what we were going to blog about for the next few days. We thought since we have some friends who are celebrating their very first Christmas this year, we'd offer some advice to help keep the holidays fun and festive. For everyone. Ha roo roo roo!
Storm said I could go first, and that we should all keep it short. My advice centers around the fact that the biped English language is very confusing!
Do not assume the phrase "ate tiny reindeer" is an accusation! Chances are, it has nothing to do with you and what you may or may not have done! Don't confess to anything! And don't act guilty!
Apparently this guy named Clement C. Moore wrote a poem back in 1823 called A Visit From Saint Nicholas, or 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Bipeds like to recite his poem even now ... and the line is ..."when, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer..." See? It's the number eight, not "ate" and has nothing to do with what any puppy may or may not have done to said reindeer!
So hold your fire on those apologies, pups, until and unless you know they have the goods on you!
Play bows,
Zim
OmDog! Zim... your are BRILLIANT! I'm going to keep my puppy dog eyes on reserve.

ReplyDeleteDid he eat the antlers as well?
love and licks, Marvin xxxxx
pee ess we been having blogging issues, its been really slow yesterday and today and our computer keeps freezing tooooooo!
still I am learning even more new words from Jeannie.......
reindeer? I have not seen any. They look very small on that tree. Are they smaller than cats and rats?
ReplyDeletePippa
Zim, thank you so much for clarifying that. I'm going to pass that valuable information on to Shyla. She's getting slightly overwhelmed by the entire concept of Christmas I think. She'll appreciate your coaching.
ReplyDeleteECHO
P.S. We used to have reindeer on our tree. I've modified ours. More on that coming up. ::sigh:: This is all just so tempting!!
Our story is "We din't eat anything, really we didn't!!" Doesn't always work, though. We love that cartoon. That's one smart pup! We also really enjoyed the HEWS (Husky Emergency Warning System). That would wake anyone from a deep sleep. Thak you Zimm and Dave for the complement to us in you last comment on our blog. We think you guys are very, very handsome! Belly Rubs, Tasha & Eva.
ReplyDeleteHey, if I can get it in my mouth...I'm eating it! I think tiny reindeer sound delicious!
ReplyDeleteSherman
That's some great advice Zim! I can't wait to see what all of the other's have for those puppies who are celebrating their first Christmas.
ReplyDeleteKaos
Good thing you figured that all out Zimmers--the human languages are sure weird, huh?
ReplyDeleteZim, are you looking a little guilty in that picture? ::big Husky grin::
ReplyDeleteZimmie, you are full of awesome advice. I most surely will NOT apologize for any tree mishaps unless there is concrete proof! And...human songs are just weird!
ReplyDeleteTell Amber "ha-woo!!" for me!
Marls
BOL, bipeds DO put out cookies though on christmas eve... and those can be eaten! BOL....
ReplyDeleteThanks Zim. You are so smart. I get accused of eating everything, so now if I get accused of eating reindeer, I will know that my parents don't have a clue what they are talking about.
ReplyDeleteSteve
Unfortunately, as Meeshka's recent post about the "Blue Sock" illistrated so nicely, the final proof is in the pudding, so to speak.
ReplyDeleteHeehee, Hey Ammie, I made a joke!Maybe that's why they named me Cracker, I cracked 'em up...

ReplyDeleteOh Zim, that's good advice. I gotta take note of that reindeer tip..
ReplyDelete~ Girl girl
Thanks Zim, for your advice. Glad that we have that clarified as we two beagle girls are liable to eat anything and ask questions later!! There is one very tiny reindeer on our very tiny tree!
ReplyDeleteLicks
Jazz and Dixie
Why thank you Zim. This is very helpful. But by any chance do you know if those said reindeer are tasty...just want to make sure - guilty or not - that I'm not missing out on anything!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read the rest of your installments!!!
Lots of Licks, Ruby
You guys are so smart - I'm sorry it took me so long to find your blog!!
ReplyDeleteRiver
That's some really sound advice for beginning troopers! Good job!
ReplyDeleteWoo woo, Kelsey Ann
Yeah, I agree wif you Zim - 'Ate tiny reindeer' & '8 tiny reindeer' - needed clarification. Human talk can certainly be confusing!
ReplyDelete-Cosmos-

ReplyDeleteOh Zim... you crack me up with the ate tiny reindeer!!! Mom wanted me to tell your mom that we have the SAME REINDEER ORNAMENTS!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sitka
