Sunday Salute - Our Vets!

We've done it before, but it's definitely time to do it again! This week, we salute our vets!

Remember back in March, Zim posted a two-parter about his trip to see Dr. Dixon? (Here and here, for those who would like to revisit the posts. He also saw her for his spondylosis.) He got to see her again! Ha rooo! It was time for his annual exam and a pre-dental exam.

Some of you talk about getting poked and prodded and stuff like that when you go to see your vets. I'm sure that happens at ours, too, but that's not what we remember after we see our vets at the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine/Pet Health Center ! We have very positive memories! Let's take Zimmie's visit ...

He met a nice student, then he and Mom hung out and played with a toy for a while.

Mom knows he really likes the Kong Jack that Steve and Kat sent us, so she let him bring that. After a while, Dr. Dixon came in to see him! She sat on the floor and played with him, then Dr. Riegel came in and talked to him and Mom (sadly, he's leaving KSU; we wish him the VERY best in Texas!), then Rachel the Vet Tech came in and hugged Zim and stuff. After that, he spent some quality time with Dr. Dixon. Check out these pix:

Dr. Dixon and Zim again

And a lovely close up of Dr. D. and Zimmie

Just what WERE those two up to? They look kind of secretive, don't they? Like something special is going on just between them! Well... guess what Dr. D gave him!?!?

BEHOLD! The power of cheese!

Oh, yeah! Mom would never let us have that! But Dr. Dixon does. :) We looooooooove Dr. Dixon! She said she gets to spoil us - how cool is THAT?!!?

After Zim's Cheese Fest, he headed to Discharge. Beth the Vet Tech saw him in there and came over to schmooze.

Hey, Beth!

He offered to sign the credit card slip. Barb was willing to let him, but Mom didn't think the bank would accept his paw-tograph. Whatever. Barb called him "handsome". Who doesn't love hearing that?!!?

So... our vets leave us with these thoughts: sitting on the floor together playing, hugs, CHEESE, schmoozing, getting compliments. Yep! That's all we remember. Anyone wonder why when Mom says, "Who wants to go to the vet's?" we all come running? Ha rooooo! To everyone at the KSU Vet Med Center, we salute you!

  11. Oh wow wish our vet was handing out that cheese stuff. He's ok and takes good care of us but every visit he tells our mum that we are fat and that she should feed us less!! What is he talking about when he says cut out the snacks??
