Hide-Out Hang Outs

Ha roo, everypup! It's me - Storms! Before I get to today's post, let me say that Amber was right once again and we got SNOW! It's heavy, wet snow and our temps plummeted overnight. The wind-chill is now about 4 below, F. PERFECTLY beautiful out there! Makes me wonder why our morning road march was cut short.

Anyroo...... glad everyone likes Zim's seat in the balcony. You'll note he didn't say he hides from me up there, just the bipeds, Dave and Amber. And why might that be the case? Well... who do you think taught him about going up there?

Ha roo!

That's right. Another class at the Stormy Zoluschka Kryschtal School of Siberian Studies. This one is Cool Places to Hang Out, and this is the lesson on Hide-Outs.

Dave will usually only go half-way up and stop on the landing. That's pretty much the same with Amber. It's a good place to hang out, too, and has a fairly good view. The biped who built the house referred to the balcony as a "cat walk", and I think Am is afraid someone's up there waiting to head-butt her. She only goes all the way to the top if it's really important. Here's Dave, on the landing:

Speaking of whom... did you see the poem Holly commissioned Marvin to write? Mighty sweet. And here's Am in a picture from a couple years ago:

Dreaming sweet dreams, no doubt!

Until next time, tail wags, everypup!

  1. Ooh, I think stairs are a little scary because there is a shiny floor at the bottom.

  2. Great hang out guys. We have stairs but not like that. Penny likes the landing by the front door where she can watch outside, the up and the down inside all at once. Joaquin can go up but only half way. He can't figure out the other half and can't get down. Whats up with that.

  3. That's such a cool hang out spot! I sure wish WE had one of those! Unfortunately, our house is all one level (except for the basement where I like to sleep) so we don't get a good lookout point.

p.s. SSShhhhh, don't tell Dave about the poem, it's a surprise!

  5. Ha roo, Magnum! We have wall-to-wall carpeting at the bottom of our steps. Mom requested that specifically so we wouldn't slip. She must have read my mind on that.

D'Azuls: Isn't it great? We have lots of fun up there! Joaquin is doing good to be able to go up stairs already! What a smart little pup! Give him time - he'll figure the rest of the process out!

Holly: You'd love it. We can see the whole living room and if we look the other way, there's a big window that let's us see the cul-de-sac across the street!
And don't worry - mum's the word on the poem!

T-man: The snow is great! For some reason, the bipeds don't like the sub-zero temps, lower wind-chill and the 30 mph wind gusts. As the D'Azul Sibes said, "What's up with that?"

  6. Stormy, You're so clever to teach Zim to hang out there. I like to hang out at the highest floor of my house too

  8. HI,
You guys have one cool look out there! Being small dogs we take any opportunity we have to get up high. The highest we get in the house is sitting on the back of the sofa!

  9. Fu Fu: You'd make a great student at the SZKSSS! How cool would that be!?!?

Marv-man! Thanks, friend! Right back at you. And we sure hope your mama starts feeling better!

Jazz and Dixie: I've heard the back of the couch can be a great look-out. Unfortunately, we aren't allowed up there ... and with a loose-pillow back, I don't think it would go well if we got up there anyway. I'm glad we have this balcony!

  13. M & M: Amber's snowcasts are amazing! I don't know why the weather bipeds don't call her first! The stairs are great. I'll post some more cool pix of our look-outs soon! And you guys are TOTALLY bee-roo-tiful! And sweet!
