"Oh... yeah... Photo Finish Friday..." |
Oh, wow. I remember now. (See yesterday's post.) I ... err ... was supposed to post the pix of my recent trip out to Tuttle Creek Dam/Lake/Reservoir/Ocean yesterday morning while Mom was out. Oops. Well, no time like the present, right?
Yeah, so the other day, Mom and I headed out to Tuttle Creek Dam/etc. Before too long, the eagles should be returning to spend the Winter with us and Mom really wants to get a few shots of them this year. You know, in case there are any new eagles who don't know our car by sight and fly far away when they see us pull into the parking lot.
Since we've had a couple freezes (even though it's back in the upper 70s/80s now), Mom let me wade through the weeds to get to the path to go down to the water.
"Let's go!" |
It was great - we had the whole place to ourselves.
"Let's go all the way to the bottom!" |
There's a great gravel path that winds all the way down to the level of the water. There are big rocks on the water side, as seen above, and cool stuff to snoof on the other side:
Beautiful, isn't it? Though it's mighty low.
Mom and I love to look out over the water.
"Beautiful!" |
We walked down by the castle-looking part of the dam a bit...
... then turned and headed back up the hill.
Mom did NOT beat me up the hill; she jumped out front real fast and snapped that!
We had a look around once we got back up top:
"I love to feel the ocean breeze blowing through my fur!" |
No eagle sightings (of course), but we sure had a great time!
I hope you enjoyed coming with us for Photo Finish 'Saturday'! Ha roo!
Play bows,
Zim

The ocean is looking mighty low. But still a wonderful walk with you. Don't you just love it when it is just you and mom and nobody else around? I sure do. Hope you get to see your eagle friends. We have a place around here too that is not to far away, where we watch them. Cool thing is that it is in an area that I can roam free, with trees and a river. But for today I think we will just hang around the house and maybe play in the snow a bit. Sure wish I could send you some. We have plenty to spare.

Zim we can well believe the breeze is lovely in your gorgeous furs. Pity no eagles this time but maybe next trip. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We are glad that you remembered, Zim. BECLAWS those were some beautiful pictures.. even though there weren't any EAGLES...
ReplyDeleteHi Zim, I love these photos-what a beautiful lake. I bet you didn't know we have eagles winter here too. I always love seeing them. It is snowing here today and probably all day tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI bet your mom beat you to the top(wink, wink)because you were pulling her. Have a pawsome weekend.

what a wonderful day Zim! I bet Dave was home snoozing away...
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a beautiful day to visit the Tuttle Creek dam/etc.! The water is mighty low so it must be on permanent low tide but hopefully you get lots of snow to fill it up. We bet the eagles are flying fast to get back to see you!
ReplyDeletePeeS: We're watching the Cats beat up some Frogs tonight big time! Yay!
I. Never thought for a moment that mom beat you up the hill. Silly humans.
ReplyDeleteThat is the other Kansas ocean? It looks gigantic.
Kisses,
Dexter
