First up is our Burning Bush:
Zim and the Burning Bush |
Mom wanted a picture of me posing in front of it. She didn't mention the pose should involve me facing the camera. We love that burst of color! That's not the only red in the front yard - show 'em, Dave!
"The Dragon's Blood Sedum is finally red!" |
"How cool!" |
The major activity in our gardens is the ornamental grasses! They put on a great show all Fall and Winter long. Want to take a look?
"Here's one of the Purple Love Grasses, Zim!" |
Oh, yeah! All that golden glowing! Doesn't that just warm your insides? Any more up here in the front yard, Dave?
"The best ones are down there, Zimmie!" |
I climbed down using those steps Dad built this Summer and had a look around.
"Oh, yeah, Dave! These ones are all kinds of floofy!" |
We decided Dave should go inside and guard the house while Mom and I checked out some of the back yard ornamental grasses. First, I posed down on that tier you see me on in the pic above:
See the floofy grass on the right side of the picture? That's one of the ones Mom and Dad split up and planted this year, so they're both really happy to see it doing so well!
Oh. And yeah, I know what you're thinking. At least half of you are thinking, "GASP! Zim! What's up with looking at the camera?!?" Am I right? Yeah. Well, Mom grabbed some Stinky Goodness Treats when she took Davy inside. So now you know. Too bad she didn't think of that when I was posing by the Burning Bush ...
Let's head down to the next tier!
SGT Zim of the MidWest |
Mom and Dad divided and planted those a couple years ago and they're super floofy! Super floofy grasses = super serene peeps!
Let's move into the back yard. Here's a nice, full Maiden Grass:
"Still have Stinky Goodness Treats, Mom?" |
Just to the right are the Lavender plants Mom put in this year! It's a totally different color scheme down there now! I blend in well, don't I?
Here's a look at our tallest grass - the Pampas Grass:
"Hey, neighbors!" |
I thought about posing there, but the Schnauzers who live behind us were out in the field barking at me. Even Stinky Goodness Treats have their limits...
Here I am, back up on our side stairs:
I don't know what made me feel more at peace - the warm sunshine ... exploring the yard with Mom ... or ...
... the Stinky Goodness Treats. Maybe all of the above. May you find your inner peace today.
Happy Sunday ~ from both me and Davy!
Play bows,
Zim
Wow! Wish we had some of your beautiful scenery...and sun!
ReplyDeleteWow! That color in the first picture is amazing! Have a great Sunday!
ReplyDeleteSam
Thanks for sharing your yard with us. We have a lot of ornamental grasses too. Zim you sure do look great when you pose for the camera. Mom should always have stinky goodness with her.
ReplyDeleteCindy & Millie
Well cool guys. We love grasses. BOL funny many years back the trend for Pampas Grass was really a signal to others that your household were swingers, Nobody has it anymore. Wonder why? Lovely gardens and thanks for sharing. Have a super Sunday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I think I have MOM convinced now that we need more Fall/Winter plants in our yard. Sure am glad we have yours to look at. I am ready now to just kick back and be serene for the rest of the day. I like your red bandanna thingy Zim. Looks good on you and especially in front of the red bush. Have a beautiful day, I know you will. Oh MOM loved the shot between Dave's ears.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Hi Zim, Loved seeing all your plants; I love Burning Bush but ours are already gone. I spent the last hour outside with Hunter trimming rose bushes and raking. It is so lovely here. Hope you have a wonderful evening!

the magic power of stinky goodness treats :D Zim, the burning bush really looks on fire! Such beautiful red color! Thanks for showing us the sedum too. That's a cute little plant :) Your ornamental grasses look great! We need to branch out (mol) with ours; we only have green and blue fescues. Thanks again for the serene tour!
ReplyDeletePip, Smidgen, Minnie, HOllie
Thank you for the beautiful walk. What vibrant colors
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Zim, you did a great job blending in with your surroundings. First you wore a red bandana, which matched the burning bush perfectly! (Also, that bush really did look like it was burning!) Then your fur perfectly complemented the ornamental grasses. You are a great model! No wonder your mom wanted to use you.
ReplyDeleteKat
Peaceful we feel!! OMMM....!!;-)
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Maxx and mommy
What a grreat pose in that last pic! Wow, Zim, you could be a model... as long as the photographer has plenty of Stinky Goodness treats!
