Serene Scenery Sunday

Hello, everyone.  It's me, Cam.  OK, so maybe I forgot I was supposed to post yesterday, but hey!  I'm still new to this whole blogging thing!  More or less.

Anyway, Mom went out to Tuttle Too Hot For Siberians Creek State Park yesterday and took about one point five million photos.  None of them are of me or Zimmie, but she did get some very serene shots, so I thought I'd share them with you.  Are you ready?

Mostly, Mom and our friend Beth were tracking a beautiful Great Blue Heron.  They walked very, very, very slowly for a long time, going out onto the long, narrow, rocky shoal where he was fishing. Can you see him out at the end?

That's when they were really far out there already.  Oh, and that's Seamus and Moss, the very handsome Border Collies in the foreground! Hi, boys!!!

Let's look at the Heron!  He was trying to hide in this shot:

About to take off!

And we have lift-off!

Mom and Beth moved closer and closer.

Mom loves his neck feathers in this one:

This one might be our favorite:

Check his reflection:

And the ultimate close-up:

They did see other birds - like these Canada Geese:

Across the water, there was a Kingfisher watching:

They also spotted an Eastern Phoebe:

On Mom's way out of the park, she stopped and shot some wildflowers. One of her favorites was the Stenosiphon:

There were also a bunch of Dotted Gayfeathers that Mom really liked (click here for a close-up) and sunflowers growing together. Here's a look:

She also spotted this Brown Thrasher over in a tree:

We hope you liked the pix and that they helped you find some serenity!  If you'd like to see more of Mom's photos from yesterday, please click here.

Happy Sunday!

Cammie!

  11. What gorgeous photos! Great Blue Herons visit our pond all the time but we have never seen them this close before! We laugh at the way their legs just follow along behind them while they're flying. Why don't they tuck them up?!

    Love ya lots♥
