Across from me in that photo above - that might look like an ugly, empty lot to you. But my mom said it holds all kinds of treasures. Take a look!
A lone sunflower, growing amid the weeds! Isn't it beautiful?!
Over in another area of the vacant lot, there were a few more. Look at this beauty:
Growing right out of the rocks!
And here is one who paired up with some Dotted Gayfeather:
It's like "nature's bouquet", right there in the rocks and sticks.

there is nothing like a sunflower to brighten up a spot :) the Gayfeather is really pretty too! cool butterfly! we had to stop ourselves from pouncing on the computer, heh heh...
